Stars of the Week

Unavailables

TONY ROMO, QB

Romo has broken his left clavicle for the second

time in three years and is out for at least the next

six weeks.

JAY CUTLER, QB

Cutler left the game on Sunday with a grade-2 pull

of his hamstring. Early reports are that he’s likely

to miss week 3.

ALSHON JEFFERY, WR

The Bears’ wide-out missed week 2 with a

severe hamstring pull. His status is up in the air for

week 3.

TOM BRADY, QB

It’s always good to be Brady. In his first two weeks, the Iron Patriot has 750 yards

and 7 TDS, including a 466 yard, 3 TD performance in week 2.

ANTONIO BROWN, WR

Awesome Antonio continues his scalding start, following-up a 25 point effort with a

33 point gem in week 2.

COLLIN KAEPERNICK, QB

The FA QB is inconsistent, but looks to be more akin

to the 2013 version instead of his 2014 model.

He’d make for a good spot-starter.

TRAVIS BENJAMIN, WR

Benjamin has benefited from the presence of Maziel in the backfield, putting up back-to-back

16+ point efforts.

ALLEN ROBINSON, WR

The inconsistent second-year man looks like he just may be the favorite target in a dreadful Jags offense. Might put up numbers by

volume.

one up / one down

AMARI COOPER, WR

The rookie receiver came up big in a week 2 victory scoring 22 points, rewarding the Penguins’ faith after they kept him in the

lineup. He’s starting strong.

CJ ANDERSON, RB

What is going on in the Broncos’ backfield? The offense is off to a slow start in general, but the off-season stud

has yet to show up.

WeeklySpotlight

Quick, can you name the only 5 running backs that registered 20+ point efforts in week 2? Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles are one thing, but did you say

DeAngelo Williams, Dion Lewis, or Matt Jones!?! Liar.Williams scored 24 in what is likely his last start of the season (LeVeon Bell

returns from suspension in week 3), while Dion Lewis racked up big PPR value out of the Patriots’ backfield. So where are all the running backs? The problem is the opposite of what one might think: there are too many good backs. More

and more teams are deploying the RB stable (the Eagles, Cowboys, Broncos, Bengals, Ravens, Patriots, Lions, and Saints all deploy three RBs regularly). With

so many teams sharing the load, the true feature back is becoming extinct. Don’t expect any waiver-wire backs to become available to save your underproductive

backfield in 2015.
