The efforts we make include

We believe that the best resources for our junior developers to learn from are… our senior developers.

Some of the best developers at some point naturally develop a need to educate their younger peers.

They have incredible prac cal experience that no external coach can possibly offer!

In-house training

All five Polcode offices are located in different ci es and there are over 40 fully remote employees.

Everyone can par cipate no ma er where they are.

The web conferences can be easily recorded so that those who couldn’t par cipate are able to catch up whenever they want.

Our training sessions o en take place online, in the form of web conferencing. Why?

Web conferences

Symfony2 (basic and intermediate levels)

Magento (on a few occasions)

web applica on security

RWD

Ruby on Rails (basic and intermediate)

The topics we have covered during our internal training sessions so far include:

And there’s more to come.

E-learning pla orms

Polcode makes use of internet resources as well. Since there are many subpar resources online, it takes a lot of work to pick the very best. We chose:

Most of the internet resources we use offer a wide range of professional and user-friendly

e-learning web applica on courses. Since they are not very advanced, we deem them ideal

for young programmers.

For the

JUNIORS

Some resources such as Code School offer more advanced courses too. Its JavaScript path provides a deep overview of the most

popular JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or Backbone.

...and for the

ADVANCED

Polcode developers enjoy access to one of the finest online libraries a so ware house could possibly have.

Its resources help our developers prepare for Zend, Magento or Symfony cer fica on exams.

The Polcode library

And what bookwould you like to read?

Our library grows every day as everyone

can suggest a tle that would make a good addi on!

The abundance of IT conferences makes for yet another important way to acquire knowledge. What conferences do we a end?

And of course the increasingly popular Polish PHPCon conference. The last edi on was a ended by about 800 people.

What conferencewould you like to go to?

At Polcode, we all hold discussions to pick the events we buy ckets to. They

are all awarded to the winners of internal contest.

Some mes all it takes is to ask the right ques on. That’s one of the reasons why we host a company microblog. We use it to discuss what conferences to a end and buy entries for.

Knowledge exchange - the Polcode microblog

Have a problem?With the microblog,

you can dothe following:

Go to the microblog and write your ques on.

Before you send it, tag it with, say, #Symfony.

Other Polcode specialists that follow that tag will get a no fica on.

As soon as they can, they will do their best to help you.

It’s always great to share knowledge and exchange ideas with skilled developers - regardless of who they work for. A er all, they all struggle with similar issues.

Sharing knowledge outside

Polcode supports and sponsors all kinds of local events for developers, such as:

As part of our knowledge sharing efforts, we organized the Polcode Academy. It‘s a perfect occasion for young programmers to kick start their career. Last year‘s edi on was very successful:

We’re already planning another edi on.

Polcode Academy

It consisted of two cycles of open sessions.

One of the paths focused on Symfony2, the other on Ruby on Rails.

In four weeks, we managed to train a total of over 40 people.

During the training, they worked in groups to develop their first applica ons with Symfony2 or Ruby on Rails.

„ Polcode is a company that was founded by programmers and out of sheer passion for programming. “

This is why we always remember to support our employees in what is the most

important for them – self-improvement.
