AND MANAGE YOUR EXPENSES

“BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY”

MANY GOOD CONCEPTS AND DESIGNS ARE BEING REPRODUCED AND SOLD AS CHEAP COPIES BY THE PEOPLE WHO ARE HIRED TO MANUFACTURE THE ORIGINALS. IN INDIA, THIS PHENOMENON IS FAMILIAR AND IS CONSIDERED TO BE COMMON “STREET KNOWLEDGE” TO ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN MANUFACTURING A CONSUMER PRODUCT IN INDIA

THEREFORE EVEN THOUGH MY PRODUCT WAS AT ITS VERY FIRST STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT, IT WAS ENOUGH TO MAKE ME FEEL THE NEED TO COVER MY ASS. JUST IN CASE.

MANY FOREIGNERS COME TO DELHI TO PRODUCE THEIR PRODUCTS.MOST OF THEM ARE PEOPLE WHO HAVE DESIGNED A LINE OF TEXTILES, CLOTHING, OR BAGS, AND ARE NOW SEARCHING FOR A GOOD MANUFACTURER WHO WILL MAKE THEIR DREAMS COME TRUE.

SOME OF THESE FORIGNERS WARMLY ADVISED ME TO FORMULATE SOME KIND OF AGREEMENT WITH MY EMPLOYEES WHICH WILL PREVENT THEME FROM EM-BARKING ON THEIR OWN LINE OF PRODUCTION BASED ON MY IDEA; ” ONE OF THE MOST FRUSTERETING THINGS COULD BE THAT YOU COME BACK TO INDIA IN A YEAR OR SO ONLY TO FIND YOUR PRODUCT ALREADY IN STORES AND NOT BECAUSE YOU PUT IT THERE... “.

NEVERHTELESS, PAYING A LAWYER TO FORMULATE A NOTARY DOCUMENT AT THIS POINT SEEMED A BIT MUCH.

SO I DECIDED TO WRITE A VERSION OF MY OWN,BASED ON MY GENERAL KNOWLEDGE AND ENDLESS EPISODES OF “LAW AND ORDER”, WHICH SHOULD COVER EVERYTHING THAT MIGHT BECOME A LEGAL ISSUE.

“BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY”

DUE TO THE WORK LOAD, AND CULTURAL DIFFERENCES, I DECIDED TO HIRE A LOCAL PERSON WHO WILL WORK WITH ME ON A DAILY BASIS AND HELP IN TRANSLATING, COORDINATING AND ADDITIONAL TASK AT HAND.

VIKI OR BY HIS FULL NAME- JITENDER PAL SINGH, WAS INTRODUCED TO ME BY A RANDOM COFFEE PLACE ACCUANTACE, WHO SUGGESTED HIM AS BEING THE RIGHT MAN FOR THE JOB.

IS AN ARCHIVE OF ALL THE DIFFERENT MEASURES HAVE TAKEN IN ORDER TO SECURE MYSELF WHILE WORKING CLOSELY WITH VIKI.

1/IPVIKI and I have been working closely together. During which time I’ve enclosed all the technical details of my machine to him. VIKI also had close contact with the different manufacturers in Delhi who have been working with us.

I_______________ ID Number __________________ declare that Nektar Solomon had enclosed the details of her own project and intellectual property to me on ________________

1/ I declare I had no relation in conceiving the idea of the BUCKET WASHING MACHINE or any other manual washing machine type. Any ideas, development or solution created during the prototyping process of the BUCKET WASHING MACHINE is not my own and is the intellectual property of Miss. Nektar Solomon.

2/ The project is a manual washing machine : a system that fits inside the Indian bucket and turns it into a washing machine.

3/ I will not make any use of the information I will be given during working meetings or any other con-versation related to the idea of the BUCKET WASHING MACHINE or the technical details involving the manufacturing and prototyping process.

4/ I will not make use of the idea of a BUCKET WASHING MACHINE or any other type of manual wash-ing machine for my personal benefit or gain or for other people’s benefit or gain.

2/MONEYVIKI agreed to receive his salary in relation to the development of the project. Nevertheless, his daily expenses had to be paid for.Other than that, he would get large sums of money in order to buy parts for the machine.

Soon I realized I need to keep track on where the money is going.

*After a while I decided to try and keep track on how VIKI spends his time. This was not so successful due to the fact that it would encourage endless excuses about traffic and other difficulties one can encounter while trying to move around in Delhi.

CONCUSSIONSDEVELOPING A PRODUCT IN INDIA CAN BE VERY FRUSTRATING.CULTURAL DIFFERENCES PLAY A LEAD ROLE IN THE PROCESS ANDNOTHING GOES AS PLANNED.IT TAKES SOME PATIENCE AND ENDURANCE TO GO ON WORKING AND NOT LOSS HOPE.

TRUSTING THE RIGHT PEOPLE ALONG THE WAY MIGHT BE THE HARDEST PART YET.

GOOD INTENTIONS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. HOW CAN YOU TELL IF SOMEONE YOU DON’T KNOW IS BEING HONEST?

EVEN AFTER YOU SIGNED AN AGREEMENT THINGS CAN STILL GO WRONG.

BUT AS MY FATHER USED TO SAY:

“IF THE SHIT HITS THE FANS, IT IS MUCH BETTER TO HAVE SOMETHING ON PAPER TO WIPE YOURSELF THAN NOTHING AT ALL.”
