After celebrating by doing a happy dance, crying tears of joy and calling everyone you know, you are probably feeling a mix of emotions.

• Elation• Happiness• Excitement

• Relief• Confusion…

maybe even… doubt?

If you were expecting to get a lower OP score than you did, you may have set your uni preferences accordingly, and maybe now you’re second-guessing whether you made the right decision. Should you have aimed higher?

First of all, there’s still time to change your study preferences, so there’s no need to panic.

Take a minute to breathe and remind yourself that this is a good thing. You studied hard and now you are seeing the rewards!

All you need to do is take a moment to check in with yourself and decide whether you need to reassess your study goals.

Getting a higher OP does not mean you need to ditch your dreams of becoming a historian to study law or medicine, if you don’t want to.If you are happy with your study options and can’t wait to study the degree of your choice, just think of your awesome OP score as a bonus (and a well-earned one at that)!

If getting that higher OP has thrown you into confusion and now you’re not really sure what you should do, don’t panic.

Now is the time to explore your options.

It can be helpful to talk to your friends, your family, your guidance or career counsellor, a USQ Career Development Practitioner, or uni admissions advisors as well as doing your own research. Remember, having more options available to you now is a good thing!

Whatever you decide, you should be proud of your achievements.
