pools. They are the most popular and provide the most flexibility when customising an

entertaining area to your lifestyle. Generally, fibreglass or vinyl lined pools are pre-fabricated

to a certain shape - but not every outdoor area is the same. This is why we recommend

concrete pools. They can be as individual as you are and we like to ensure our customers get

the maximum amount of usage from their new investment.

Knowledge is Power.

We cannot overstate the importance of having a plan in place before

committing to a new pool. It is important that you are comfortable

and have all the information about what you want before you sign

the contract.

Do your research and visit outdoor home and living shows, collect

magazines, look at other pool websites and talk to professionals

who are on the ground working with pools every single day. Your

pool builder should be happy to recommend previous customers to

you to act as a reference.

Before you begin to choose a pool, we highly recommend that you

check if you are allowed to build a pool on your property, through

your local council and before meeting with your pool builder, ensure

you have copies of the site plan of your property, sewerage plans

and titles that include easements.

You have to be comfortable with your pool builder and ensure that they will deliver on their promises, to an agreed schedule and on budget. In many cases, an advertised fixed pool deal does not take into account many other charges that have to be incurred.

The builder and their contractors will be working on your property for some time, so it is essential that you have a mutual level of trust and respect before entering a contract.

At Summit Pools, we will provide you with a full quote that itemises every cost, a scope of works and a schedule for practical completion. Obviously, weather plays an important part in being able to

deliver on time, however, we do try to allow for this when formulating the date of completion.

Choosing the best equipment to ensure maximum enjoyment of your pool.

Before the pool designer visits ...There are a couple of items to consider before committing to a contract on a new pool.

Is the Builder appropriately licensed and have the appropriate levels of insurance?

Has access to the site been considered and costs required to complete the work?

Is damage to the driveways and landscapes to be covered by the builder or yourselves?

Are there any special soil conditions (ie. rock) that needs to be considered and any further costs to be incurred?

Is the current power supply sufficient to run pool pumps and other requirements? Will an upgrade be needed and will this be factored into the price?

Ensure you have a full understanding of what is written, do not assume and sign, read through everything carefully. If you do not understand, just ask, you pool builder should be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Ensure the contract has general terms and conditions.
