Congratulations to Greg and Denise for putting together a wonderful Concours. The weather was great, the turnout was great, the dinner was delicious and everyone really enjoyed themselves. I would like to thank everyone who helped Greg in some way with the wonderful day. Now on to October, our meeting in October will be our traditional Auction, so bring all your goodies you would like to pass on to someone else (one man’s trash is another man’s treasure) and your checkbook (or cash) and maybe you will find something (you need). All proceeds will go to Cystic Fibrosis Other traditional October business is nominations for next year’s Board, if you are interested in running for the Board, come to the meeting and get yourself nominated or if you can’t make the meeting, contact a Board member or me, Carol Mattison, and let us know you are interested. We need several new people next year; many current Board members are stepping down. So come to the October meeting and have fun! Finally, the Christmas party will be here before you know it. This year’s event will be at Station 885 in Plymouth on December 4, 2004. As we have done for the past few years a $5.00 per person deposit will be required. Please be sure to give your name and money to Carol Mattison by November 20, 2004. Carol

I’ve been sitting here trying to think of a way to say “thanks” to the judging and scoring people that I work with, that’s at least a little different from the previous 16 that I’ve written. It suddenly dawned on me how many people have been through our judges training program over the years, close to 60 by my records. I think that it is amazing that all of these people are still alive, none have had a mental breakdown or suffered through a bankruptcy. I guess that that proves that if you want to protect your physical, mental and financial health become a JAGM Concours judge or tally person!

As usual we had a number of judges, that do not show cars, drive a

considerable distance to help make our show possible, over 100 miles each way in one case. There is no way to overstress the importance of these people, as they are the one group that cannot be replaced with volunteers the day of the show! It would really be nice if more entrants would tell them “thanks” in appreciation for their efforts and dedication!

Miller Beurmann Mike Bailey Frank Kozlowski Bob Sawyer Phil McInroe John Debano Ralph Parks Dennis Clack Tom Hudak Dan Watkins Bob Klemmer Fred Uhlig Jason Mattison Tom Bailey Don Swanson Len Kata Tom Shipley Wayne Schultz Carol Mattison Phil Wert Chuck Diamond Ron Halbauer

As usual the tally people are cooped up in the scoring room and see NOTHING of the Concours! These are our unseen and unsung heros!!

following the judges around and gathering up the score sheets. Ilene Harris Diane Cable TJ Bailey

Although he’s not one of my people I must mention the FANTASTIC job that Bob Matejek did on the awards slide show presentation. This was an all day job and I’m afraid few people realized the work involved! Thanks Bob! Now if we can all get together and shout “ four more years” perhaps Greg will stay on as Concours Chairman for at least that length of time. Thanks Greg!!! Chief Judge Bob Stevenson

Concours d’ Elegance

September 11, 2004 For those of you who were unable to attend this year’s event, your “Indicator” Editors have captured some

images for your enjoyment.

This year not only included over fifty beautiful Jaguars, but perfect weather and an exciting, fun filled awards banquet.

Best of all, there were eleven new club Jaguars. Hopefully, next year, eleven more members will join the

show and share their favorite ride.

Ahhhh… Nothing Like the Sweet Aroma of Meguire’s and Armor All in the Morning!

...it all started wit a lot of rubbing...

The Judge’s work must be very fair...

It’s not always

an easy job.

There’s a lot to do...

...Lots of People…. I hope everyone had a great time at the 2004 Concours. If you didn’t show your car or just didn’t show up, you missed a great event. We had a good cross section of autos and people, a great hospitality room, a terrific Awards Banquet and to top it off great weather. The Hilton banquet staff did one heck of a job with this year’s dinner; hey let’s talk about the desserts.

If you were a trophy winner and were unable to pick it up please contact Bob Stevenson or myself so we can bring it to a meeting for you. It’s impossible to put together a show like this without a lot of help from some great volunteers. I would like to thank, in no particular order: Louise Hoskins and Joan Jaffary and their entire assemblage of able bodied assistants for doing such a great job with the hospitality room and all of you that brought baked goods and such. Thank you John Debano and Chuck

Diamond for parking cars and putting up signs. Thanks Bob and Darlene Stevenson and the entire judging and tally crew. Thanks to “runners” Dianna Cable , Denise Kalwasinski & TJ Bailey.

Bob Matejek did a great job compiling the scores and producing the video show during the banquet.

Thanks to Ilene Harris, Gary Hershoren and Janet Clack at the registration booth.

And of course there was our own

resident sculptor “artist” Jason

Mattison who single handedly contrived this years banquet

centerpieces and did a terrific job of contacting our

donors and gathering a great selection of door prizes and

handouts.

Mattie Majors did a great job at the door prize table.

Denise Kalwasinski designed this year’s dash plaque.

And of course there was Ted “ The Good Humor Man” Schultz.

And finally thanks to all of you that helped and I forgot to mention your name. Your help is greatly

appreciated.

Without all of your assistance and support it would be impossible to

put on such an event. Thanks to you all.
