The restaurants in Cornwall ... ... have improved enormously over the past 10 years and are for the most part very good. We have been very subjective and list below some of our favourites: One of the advantages to dining in Cornwall is that a large number of restaurants, pubs and cafes are situated in wonderfully impressive settings where you can eat and drink while appreciating views overlooking golden sandy beaches, cobalt ocean waters and the rugged coastline, or the lush green fields and rolling hills of the countryside. The main ethos across Cornwall is that food is locally sourced and prepared wherever possible. Fortunately this is not hard to achieve in a region where fresh fish and seafood is caught daily in fishing towns along the coast from Penzance to Looe, and our food producers are supplying us with some of the best food in the country. Farm shops and delicatessens are popping up across the county serving home-grown produce including vegetables, fruit, hand reared meat, dairy products, ales and wine, and much more. We have some excellent farmers’ markets and farm shops which are always interesting to visit and where you can get great local produce and expert advice. Cornwall really is now a food destination. Whether you are looking to taste the flavours of locally grown mussels or oysters, feast on a traditional roast with Prime Cornish beef, indulge in some homemade clotted cream, or unwind with a full-bodied glass of wine selected from one of the local vineyards or a pint of beer from one of the county’s breweries, Cornwall has a culinary experience to suit every palate. Cornwall’s gastronomic scene has evolved over the decades but our traditional specialities remain prominent within restaurants, cafes, markets, shops and homes across the county. Traditional fare reflects the history of the mining, farming and fishing industries across Cornwall and few visitors leave without indulging in a delicious traditional pasty, Cornish cream tea, or portion of fish and chips. Our ice creams are pretty good too! One of the advantages to dining in Cornwall is that a large number of restaurants, pubs and cafes are situated in wonderfully impressive

settings where you can eat and drink while appreciating views overlooking golden sandy beaches, cobalt ocean waters and the rugged coastline,

or the lush green fields and rolling hills of the countryside.

The main ethos across Cornwall is that food is locally sourced and prepared wherever possible. Fortunately this is not hard to achieve in a
