To my seven year old sister, Arissa, if you ever feel bored.
Today, Lila woke up from bed. She felt really happy. She knew that today was going to be a good day.
She wore her favorite shirt today.
Lila and her mom walked to school together. Lila was singing happily on her way to school. When they arrived, her mom said “Bye” and Lila went to her classroom.
The bell rang. It was time for class to start.
Everyone was noisy. They were out of their seats. “Look! Then teach-er’s coming!”shouted a student. Everyone rushed back to their seats.
The teacher came in.“Good morning, class!” said Ms. Amy.“Good morning, Ms. Amy, “ everyone cheered.
“We have a new student joining our class and her name is Taylor. Come in and introduce yourself,” said Ms. Amy.
Taylor stepped forward.“Hi. My name is Taylor Wrinslet. I am seven years old. I have two old-er sisters and a younger brother,” said Taylor.
“Good! Now you could either sit beside Mary or Lila. Choose whichever one,” said Ms. Amy.Taylor went to sit beside Lila.
“Okay, class. I will give you some free time to do what-ever you want. Make sure you say ‘Hi!’ to Taylor and I’ll be back in twenty minutes,” Ms. Amy continued.
Mary pulled Lila out of her seat.“Let’s say ‘Hi!’ to Taylor,” said Mary, Lila’s bestest friend. It turns out that everyone else was crowding around her table. Eve-ryonr rushed towards Taylor. Everyone except Lila.
Lila was so jealous. She wished she had that much attention everyday.“I wish I was a new kid,” whis-pered Lila. The lunch bell rang.
“Come on, Lila! Let’s go!” said Mary.Taylor sat next to Lila at lunch. Lila was still angry. Mary joined the table.
“Lila? You okay?” asked Mary to Lila. “Ya....ya, I’m fine,” murmured Lila.
Lila stayed quiet during the whole day during school. Mary never noticed Lila because she played with Taylor a lot more that day.
The next day, she was in class super early. Lila went to Taylor’s desk and placed a spider underneath it.
“Aaaaahhh!!!” yelled Taylor. The spider crawled out of the desk. Someone picked it up and placed it outside the window. Ms. Amy came in.
“What is with the noise in here?” screamed Ms. Amy.Everyone stayed silent. During class, Ms. Amy called Taylor to write an example on the board.
Lila stuck her foot out and made Tay-lor trip and fall to the ground! Taylor’s knees were hurt.
“Lila! Keep your feet between your desk and apologize immediately!” said Ms. Amy angrily.“Sorry,” whispered Lila.
It was soon lunchtime. When Lila went past Taylor at the front door, Lila gave Taylor a hard push.
“Lila! I need to speak to you,” said Ms. Amy.Lila went up to Ms. Amy. “Is there anything bothering you? Anything related to Taylor?” asked Ms. Amy curiously.“Yes, her popularity. I want that back. She stole it from me!” confessed Lila.
“Oh, Lila. She didn’t mean to steal it. She probably doesn’t want anything to do with popularity. Taylor has done nothing to you. Let’s be nice to her, shall we? Go and apologize,” said Ms. Amy calmly.
“Hey! Sorry I did all that to you. I shouldn’t have. I just wanted popularity. But that doesn’t matter. We’re still kids. Could I be your friend?” asked Lila.“No problem!” said Taylor happily.
And they were...........
