Dear Friends,

As I pen this editorial I am feeling very proud of the people of my country. It was so

exhilarating when people came out in large droves to say NO to corruption. Though it is not

the norm for civil society to interfere with legislature in making the texts of laws, our hands

were forced in this matter. That all sorts of toothless legislations were proposed and dispelled

is a part of historic lore for the last 42yrs. Earlier India did not have much money to be looted.

But now our GDP is huge and tax collections are a gold mine. Unfortunately many leaders

have begun to look like looters nowadays. Hence civil society had to step in firmly under the

leadership of Anna Hazare.

Anna Hazare reminded us that politicians and bureaucrats are our servants. Will we

keep quiet if our servants loot our homes? Lately corruption has become so prevalent that we

excuse some leaders as long as they deliver. Will we excuse our servant of looting our home

just because he performs his tasks well? No way. Let us all join and say No to looting and No

to corruption. Whatever happens to the Lokpal bill, we will stick to our guns. India's coffers are

like our own safe deposit locker. Nobody should be allowed to touch it without our OK.

I hope families in R.A. Puram, Alwarpet, Teynampet, Mylapore and Anna Nagar find this

Insomnia is a common sleep sickness that has bothered many people around the world. But the consequences brought about by this disorder may not be as ordinary as it may seem.

1) Wake up and go to bed at the same time everyday, even during the weekends. 2) Don't eat within 4 hours before you go to bed. If in case you went hungry, try some crackers or light snack. But don't indulge in an "eat-all-you-can" feast right before bedtime. Your food won't be digested well, resulting in poor and uncomfortable sleep.

3) Don't drink caffeine or alcohol. Caffeine can obstruct your ability to sleep. Alcohol can make you drowsy, but it can wake you up in the middle of the night and bring you side effects that will hinder a continuous sleep process.

4) Relax and stay fit. Avoid having a stressful lifestyle. Exercise daily to release tension. Engage in breathing exercises to relax your body. Most important of all, don't carry your problems or emotional baggage to sleep with you.

5) Never force yourself to sleep. Sleep comes best if you are in a relaxed and comfortable state.

How that can be possible?He is advocating for a Bil, The Lok Pal Bill (The Citizen Ombudsman Bill), that will form an autonomous authority who will make politicians (ministers), bureaucrats (IAS/IPS) accountable for their deeds.7. It's an entirely new thing right..?In 1972, the bill was proposed by then Law minister Mr. Shanti Bhushan. Since then it has been neglected by the politicians and some are trying to change the bill to suit their theft (corruption).8. Oh.. He is going on a hunger strike for that whole thing of passing a Bill ! How can that be possible in such a short span of time?The first thing he is asking for is: the govt should come forward and announce that the bill is going to be passed.Next, they make a joint committee to DRAFT the LOK PAL BILL. 50% government participation and 50% public participation.Because you can't trust the govt entirely for making such a bill which does not suit them.9. What will happen when this bill is passed?A LokPal will be appointed at the centre. He will have an autonomous charge, say like the Election Commission of India. In each and every state, Lokayukta will be appointed. The job is to bring all alleged party to trial in case of corruptions within 1 year. Within 2 years, the guilty will be punished.
