  • My name is Rachel Paxton, and I am a freelance writer and mom of five children, ages 28-6. I have been canning for more than 20 years, and I am the owner of the web site

  • Ingredients

    2 c. flour

    tsp. salt

    1 tsp. sugar

    4 tsp. baking powder

    1/3 c. cold butter

    1 c. milk

  • Mix flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar together in a large mixing bowl.

  • Cut COLD butter into small pieces.

  • Mix butter into flour with pastry blender.

  • Butter mixed into flour mixture.

  • Pour milk into flour mixture. Mix everything together with a spoon until just moistened.

  • Place dough on floured board or mat.

  • Press dough flat with hands to thickness of inch. Cut biscuits with biscuit cutter or top of a drinking glass.

  • Place biscuits on ungreased cookie sheet.

  • Bake at 450 degrees for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown.
