Problem Statement

Malnutrition is a serious issue that developing markets like India are facing today. 50% of the children in

India are victims of malnutrition. According to UNICEF, one of three malnourished children in the world is

from India. Malnutrition in children is not affected by food intake alone; it is also influenced by access to

health services, quality of care for the child and pregnant mother as well as good hygiene practices.

Research shows that girls are more at risk of malnutrition than boys because of social taboos and norms

prevalent in the Indian society.

GSKCH drives its business agenda through the strong value based culture and legacy. Aligned to the

mission of improving quality of lives of people, it needs to come up with a business strategy/plan to

counter malnutrition in India.

The Task

Your task is to design/formulate a sustainable business strategy/plan to counter malnutrition

while balancing the corporate objectives of the organization.

The strategy should include the roadmap for the next five years with clearly implementable steps

and proposed milestones in the process.

Analyse the key challenges/risks in your proposal and sketch out mitigation plans for the same.
