How do I travel from Dockyard to Hamilton and St. George’s? Transportation passes give unlimited access to all public buses and ferries. One day, $19.00, two consecutive days, $31.50, three consecutive days, $44.00 One way bus or ferry token is $4.50 and are available from the Visitor Information Centre (VIC).
What is the fastest way to Hamilton ? The Ferry takes 20 minutes.
I’d rather take a taxi or mini bus.If you’re looking for private transportation or want to accommodate a group, just ask taxi and mini bus drivers directly for an estimate. Most offer full travel benefits including commentary.
I just want to go to the beaches. There is a Horseshoe Bay Beach Shuttle Bus $16 round trip, tickets available at the (VIC).
The #7 bus departs Dockyard for the South Shore beaches. Horseshoe Bay Beach is a 30 minute ride and this route includes Church Bay, Jobson’s Cove, Warwick Long Bay and Elbow Beach.
Once you arrive in St. George’s there is a St. George’s & St. David’s Beach Bus “Hop on Hop Off” for just $6 a day and kids under 12 ride free. This shuttle visits east end beaches, forts and watersports.
Where else does the ferry go from Dockyard?BLUE ROUTE Hamilton ORANGE ROUTE St. George’s
Which bus routes are recommended for me?ROUTE #7 DOCKYARD - HAMILTON (via South Shore Beaches, Gibbs Hill Lighthouse & The Swizzle Inn on South Shore) ROUTE #1 HAMILTON - ST. GEORGE’S (via Tucker’s Town, Crystal & Fantasy Caves, Baileys Ice Cream and The Swizzle Inn Baileys Bay)

MUST DO
While travelling to or from St. George’s, stop off and explore Crystal & Fantasy Caves. Feeling the heat? Let a nice ice cream cone come to the rescue at Bailey’s Ice Cream Parlour (cash only). There is a walkway between the caves and Bailey’s, perfect for a quick journey and suitable for the whole family. Great place to get a few nice photos too! Swizzle Inn is located across the road from Baileys.
Enjoy a guided tour down 83 steps and journey along a floating bridge gazing at some of the most incredible crystal formations in the world, overlooking deep, clear natural pools of azure turquoise water. Find something special at Fiddlesticks Gift Shop and sit off and treat yourself at Café Olé before you are on your way.
The Story... In 1905, two young teenagers named Carl Gibbons and Edgar Hollis were engaged in a spirited game of cricket. One of the lads struck the ball with ferocity and it disappeared into a hole several yards away. This ball was a prized possession and no effort was spared at attempting to retrieve it. As one of the boys crawled down deeper and deeper, it became apparent that this was not your ordinary hole. What he found was beyond his or the Wilkinson family’s wildest dreams. It was an underground world of delicate splendor with magnificent crystal formations of every size and shape surrounding a clear lake 55 feet deep.
Open Daily. Guided half hour tours leave every 15 minutes. Entry is $22 one cave, $30 two caves. Children under 12 $10 ($12 both caves) (under 5 years free) Take bus #s 1, 3, 10 or 11 from Hamilton or St. George’s.

TIP: Visit the Hamilton Visitor Information Centre next to the Ferry Terminal on Front Street for helpful maps, schedules and pamphlets about Bermuda. The Central Bus Terminal is located on Church Street in the City of Hamilton. About a 7 minute walk from the Ferry Terminal.
I only have time for one attraction in the City of Hamilton! The City Hall & Arts Centre is home to The Bermuda National Gallery, Bermuda Society of Arts, Earl Cameron Theatre and City of Hamilton head office. Enjoy a walking tour with Town Crier Ed Christopher weekdays from 10:30am at the City Hall steps.
Where should I stop for a bite to eat in the City of Hamilton? Flanagan’s Irish Pub serves traditional Codfish & Potatoes breakfast or stop by The Pickled Onion, both are located on Front Street overlooking Hamilton Harbour.
I’d love to pick up a few souvenirs! Onion Jacks and Brown & Co are both on Front Street or enjoy the fabulous collections at Flying Colours on Queen Street. Does Bermuda have an
aquarium or zoo? Yes! The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo is located in Flatts Village. You would need to take bus #10 or #11 from City of Hamilton or St. George’s
Does Bermuda have a national drink? We sure do and after visiting the Crystal Caves you can walk 5 mins to Swizzle Inn and sip on a famous Rum Swizzle or enjoy a Dark n’ Stormy.
Where is the airport? The L.F. Wade International Airport is in the east end of the island and has direct flights to Boston, NYC, Philadelphia (all under two hours), Washington, Charlotte (two hours), Toronto, Atlanta, Miami (three hours) and London (under 7 hours).
Why are roofs white? We collect rainfall on our roofs for our water supply, so the roofs must be kept clean.
No, I didn’t know that...Bermuda is the oldest British Colony, has the most churches and golf courses per capita of any location in the world and Bermuda also has one of the highest concentrations of limestone caves in the world.
Bermuda is made up of nine parishes that stretch like districts across the island. The City of Hamilton is the capital.

Why is a visit to St. George’s an absolute must? Because there is just so much to do!
Fort St. Catherine contains cannons, guns, military exhibits and more, not to mention stunning panoramic views of the east end shoreline. Gates Bay, the gorgeous palm strewn beach alongside this historic fort and serviced by the operators of Tobacco Bay, is complete with sun loungers, snorkeling, cold beverages and quick snacks from the new Cannon Bar concession.
Alexandra Battery is a fortification built in the 1860s. Just below the fort, is Buildings Bay, well known for its colourful sea glass that washes ashore (please don’t take
these precious treasures). Drew’s Bay is another east end hidden treasure. Snorkeling is good and a wonderful place for a family picnic.
The Beach House at Blackbeard’s Hideout, located at Achilles Bay, is in the shade of historic Fort St. Catherine, the most easterly point of the Bermuda islands.A perfect stop for a cold drink, lunch or a stunning sunset dinner.
