History Berlin of
Berlin is a capital of Germany
It is one of the political, culture and historical cities in Europe, which has a long history.
In 13th century there were two fish villages – Kőlln and Berlin on the river Spree. In 15th century Berlin became on of the richest cities of Germany. In 18th century many big and beautiful buildings were built there: the Museum of German History, the Berlin University, the Berlin Academy of Science and so on.
So a small settlement had turned into a sizable port and trading centre.
Berlin became a capital of Germany in 1871
Nobody knows exactly in what way Berlin got its name. But many historical suppose it connect with the word “bear”.That’s why bears are so popular symbol in Berlin.Nowadays we can also see a bear on the City Emblem of Berlin.
In 1933 fascists came to the power in Germany
Many warplanes were made by fascists in Berlin, for Example “Blitzkrieg”.
It was a bad, sad tragic time for Germans. They never forget it, because…
During the II World War Berlin was hardly destroyed.
There were no more light, gas, traffic.
All was in ruins.
People had to make their city again.
After the II World War German people were released by USSR Armey.
The victorious powers divided the city into four sectors. The sectors of the Western Allies (USA, UK, France) formed West Berlin, while the Soviet sector formed East Berlin.
In the end a wall was built, which divided Berlin into two part… two states…
Only on the 9th of November 1989 people from West and East Berlin got an opportunity to see their relatives , friends, who lived in different parts, because on that day the wall was destroyed.
On the 3th of October 1990 the two parts of Germany were officially united as the Federal Republic of Germany. Berlin became the German capital again.
