The People! New Delhi has been inhabited since before 600 BCE.People came to it in the past because it was along many majortrade routs. It is also the sight of many ancient and medievalmonuments. New Delhi is the capital of India and is a hotspotfor business and marketing. People buy and sell many di ff erentspices in markets around New Delhi. The recent population isabout 171,806. Religions in New Delhi are mainly Hindu andMuslims. The most commonly spoken languages are Hindi,Urdu, and Bengali.
EnvironmentHumans have changed the environment of New Delhi a lot.
They have because we have destroyed trees and other parts of nature to pack in more apartments and houses to shelter the growing population. New Delhi used to have lots of trees andother plants, but doesnt any more. You can see that in thepicture on top there are a couple trees but in the bottompicture there arent any. This change has happened over time inthe last century. New Delhi has a lot less vegetation now. It is very diff erent now from what it used to be.

The Impact the Past Has on the Present! India was once in an intense war with the Britishbecause they wanted control over India. In thetwentieth century, after a long time of ghting, thenally British won the war and took over India. Whenthey got power, they chose to make New Delhi itscapital. Now, because of this, New Delhi is still thecapital of India. It is also a hotspot for business and isourishing with all kinds of di ff erent people and
cultures from around the world. New Delhi today has very little resemblance to what it was in the past.

JAKARTA
The Jakarta has much bad history such aswhen the Dutch took over. Jakarta was namedafter the prince Jayakarta. The Dutch had utterlytotal control of Jakarta from the 1800 to the1950. When the Dutch took over in the past they
created quite a few buildings and technology tohelp maintain Jakartas economy during theirrule. When the Dutch took over Jakarta theyrenamed it to be Batavia but after there rule thecitizens changed the name back to Jakarta. Nowdays because of the technology and old buildings
from the Dutch Jakarta uses it to enhance theireconomic system. Since the Dutch took over inthe past Jakartas economy is enhanced.

How Did Kuwait Change From Past To Present
People in Kuwait changed the environmentor landscape because of the Gulf War.
After that, people in Kuwait wanted tobuild more stuff and make their countrywealthy. The entire city was destroyedand there was oil fuels during and afterthe Gulf War.
! Kuwait changed the landscapeby building many tall buildings and basically they
built lots of things. Also, they traded with othercountries. Thanks to their major product oil they
could make up their country. This change occurredafter the Gulf War. (28 February 1991~ until now)
! After this change to the environmentin Kuwait population highly increased, theireconomy got better, and lots of tall buildingcould be seen easily. However, there is a
bad point which is air pollution. Since theyare rich nowadays theyre trying to make
tallest building in the world. Finally, after that,Kuwait became modern as New York City in U.S.A.

How Have Humans Adapted tothe Environment?
Shanghai is abreathtaking citywith a blend of attractivephysical featuresand modernarchitecture andtechnology. Asyou can see, there is amassive changebetween 1990and 2010senvironment.First of all, thebiggest changesI see are thebuildings. Thereare moredecorative and colorful lights on them and they arevery elevated. I believe that people have adapted tothe modern kind of environment now a day becauseof, contemporary technologies, more comfortableliving, and entertainment. However, to make thisnew style of living possible, people in Shanghai hadto cut down the trees. For example, where thefamous Oriental Pearl TV tower that stands now,was once full of millions of trees. In the last 20 yearsI think there have been lots of differences.

People of ShanghaiShanghai is the most mind-blowing city that is ever known. This city has varieties of jobs, opportunities, andoffers the most convenient life styles suitable for different kinds of people. Moreover, shanghai is a city with arich history. First of all, this city was founded in the 10 th century. It was only an insignificant market town of 12,000 households. It is located in a swampy area.Shanghai sits at the Yangtze River, boarding ChinaSea, Korea Bay, Yellow Sea, and the South China Sea.Without a doubt, Shanghai has an exceptionalcombination of striking physical features and modernlifestyle.
People from all walks of life come to Shanghai for amiraculous reason. Before, the reason why peoplecame to Shanghai was because Shanghai aidedrefugees from wars, with shelter, food, and clothing. Itwas also a safe place to live. However now, peoplecome to Shanghai because it is a westernized city withcomfortable living. In addition, transportation isinexpensive, spotless, modern, and is equally easy tonavigate. Since the crime rate is low, the streets are generally secured night and day. Moreover, there aremajor industries like Shanghai Automotive or Baosteel Group which are one of the biggest companies in theWorld. In Shanghai you can live comfortably without anxieties. PAST AND

Shanghai is an enthusing city that anyother city can be jealous of. It used to
be East Asiasleading city.Theneverythingchanged onDecember 5, 1937,whenJapaneseoccupied
theShanghaigovernmentin the early
stages of second Sino- Japanese war.Shanghai industries were sufferingfrom a combination of neglect, abuse, and over- taxation by the Japaneseoccupation government. The Japanesetook over many of the citys factoriesand milked them dry to fund their war machines.
Since this depressing event happened,Shanghai lost a mammoth amount of valuable resources and money.Tactlessly, Shanghais supplies of cotton and coal had dwindled to amere trickle. Moreover, a black marketflourished in basic commodities suchas sugar, oil, and rice. Hundreds of thousands of factory workers lost their
jobs and factories had been looted for their metal and machinery. In addition,Banks pumped out worthlesscurrencies on the newspaper prints. This tragic event caused misery in
people and lack of supplies. As aresult, the city of Shanghai is now astronger city because the citizens havegonethrough theworst andtheysurvived it.If this didnthappen,Shanghaiwould be aricher citywith lots of resources.

FirstExperiment?
Ho Chi Minh City is such a hot
place. I cant stand the weather whenit is in summer. Luckily, when I came
there, it was the rainy season so it is
not that much a deal. The quality and
services of the hotel is really good,
even though it is not a 5 stars hotel.
Most of the day, I stay in the hotel and
watch music channel and sing along
because I dont have much to do.
Sometime, I follow my mom to the Ben
Thanh Market to buy stuff. My mom
buys lots of things, and whenever the
price is high, I always have to stand
for a long time waiting for my mom to
nish arguing to get a discount.
Eventually, she gets half of the
discount that she wanted. Ben Thanh
Market is a big area that smells like
food, but therere so many people,
especially visitors from other country. At night, our family usually goes out for a walk and eats food
outside on the street. The food is not dirty, and its
still hot and fresh. It is hot outside, so the best was
cold green tea. The shopping mall has so many
things, my dad bought a massage machine, and the
price is not that high. I went inside the Super
Market and saw my favorite thing, yogurt, milk, and Korean seaweed, there was so many food that
I like. I dont know what to choose, so I chose boxes
of yogurt. We went to a restaurant for lunch on the
next day, and most of the food in the Menu was
French food. It was good. We only stayed there for
a few days, but I had a lot of fun.
ARE YOU BEING HYPNOTIZED BY THIS? Ho Chi Minh City is a place that you would
never ever want to leave, especially if you are
French. Since Ho Chi Minh City is located
near the sea and forests, it has a really nice
weather with fresh air thats makes the
visitors from other country come and visit.
Ho Chi Minh City is famous for its resorts,
culture and businesses. Many people came
there in the the past to make prot and to
discover the mystery history of the Vietnam
War like what I did last year. People go to HoChi Minh City today because it is a perfect
city for visitors that want to live in a
convenient life. Now in 2012, Ho Chi Minh
City is known as a major city with a quite
large population, an entertainment place,
and a crowded market place. If you come
to Ho Chi Minh City, you would see
French foods in the Menu of many
restaurants, the view looks like a French
restaurant, too. Whenever I visit Ho Chi
Minh City, French Fries, French bread, and
cereals are what I always eat for the whole
day. Ho Chi Minh City may not be a wonderful
place in the beginning, but in the end, you would not want to leave like you want to stay
there forever, because you think it is the best
place to live and make businesses.

Big Changes
Before, the population of Ho Chi Minh City was
so little like a small village, but now, it became a
large famous city. The population of Ho Chi Minh
City was only about .5 million in the 1700s - 1900s,
thats when Ho Chi Minh City was not famous. In
the 1900s, a lot of Vietnamese from the North had
to move to Ho Chi Minh City to hide from the acid
bombs that the USA was dropping. Vietnamese
people from different provinces tried to escape
from the war by coming to Ho Chi Minh City since
there werent many bombs and shooting or killing.
More than 10,000 Vietnamese people from
different areas came regularly and increased the
population. After the war, in the 1980, instead of
having another war, Vietnam opened its gate of
businesses, and started to to build a better
country. Since Vietnam opened its businesses, Ho
Chi Minh City gets to trade resources, and export
with others country to makes and exchanges
money to improve the city. Now in 2012, Ho Chi
Minh City is known as a major city with a quite
large population, an entertainment place, and a
crowded market place. After the war between the
USA and Vietnam in the 1900s made Ho Chi Minh
City a bigger city, and a better business place like
the richest city in the Middle East of Asia.
Worrying About Jobs and
Scared of People?
Ho Chi Minh City is a wonderful land
that is located near the sea in the
South of Vietnam, surrounded with the
countryside, famous resorts, and green forest. It
was founded 2000 years ago by the Khmer. Since
Ho Chi Minh City is located near the sea and
forests, it has a really nice weather with fresh air
thats makes the visitors from other country come
and visit. Ho Chi Minh City is famous for its
resorts, culture and businesses. Many people camethere in the the past to make prot and to discover
the mystery history of the Vietnam War like what I
did last year. People go to Ho Chi Minh City today
because it is a perfect city for visitors that want to
live in a convenient life. There are many
opportunities and resources for the people that
live in Ho Chi Minh City, such as industries,
agriculture (oil, nature gas,...), doctor, salesman/
woman, and more. The major industries or
businesses are tourist industries, designers, chef,
bank workers. The population of Ho Chi Minh City
is estimated about 7.5 million in 2010, about 80%
is no religion, 9% is Buddhist, 7% is Catholic, up to
3% is Hoa Hoa and Cao Dai, and .6% is Protestant
and Muslim, and many others. The people in Ho
Chi Minh City speaks Vietnamese, they can also
speak English, Chinese, French, and others, so that
visitors from other country can understand (as a
translator). Visitors would not be afraid when they
come to Ho Chi Minh City, its makes great
businesses, and perfect for living. Ho Chi Minh
City may not be a wonderful place in the
beginning, but in the end, you would not want to
leave like you want to stay there forever, because
you think it is the best place to live and make

Switching Culture
Before the 1900s, Ho Chi Minh City was just a plain, old city,
but everything changed after the war between the French and the
Vietnamese. Around the 1950, French came to the Ho Chi Minh City and changed the landscape from the Vietnamese style to the French
style. They started to cut down trees and build tall buildings. Cars
were just the same in French, how people dress was the same too.
French did something good for the city, they started to add more
colors to the city, even though the Vietnamese were slaves and
working for the French. French made businesses and expanded
the land so that they can have more money and land. They
wanted take over Ho Chi Minh City and make it theirs, but at the

These are the pictures of Wellington in the Past and Present.
Which is better? Past or Present.New Zealand was a place where Maoris live, until the British came everything changed.
Everywhere in New Zealand was ruled by the British including Wellington, this happened in theearly 1800s. After that then less than 2,000 Europeans lived in New Zealand, unfortunately for theMaoris they were controlled by the British government. The British came in as if a tiger about toattack its prey. The British ended up taking away the Maoris land, and they also sold some to otherpeople. Then at Waitangi 1840 the British introduced the Maoris to the British kingdom, andMaoris became British citizens. Then the British and the Maoris shared land and New Zealandover the years became a British colonization. New Zealand changed a lot through out the years butits still a land where Maoris live and where lots of beautiful birds live.
Why do people come here? New Zealand is one of the most amazing and beautiful countries to live in. In about A.D. 800,
the Polynesian Maori reached New Zealand and in 1840 the Maoris were introduced to the Britishkingdom. The reason why the British came is because they wanted to nd new land and moreresources like trees. In the present day some people come for jobs, tourism and because its clean. If
you go to Wellington now some jobs that are mostly offered are farming, tour guide, banker, grocerand a miner. Some of the major industries in Wellington are food processing, wood and paperproducts, textiles, machinery, transportation equipment, banking and insurance, tourism and mining.People choose to live in Wellington because there are a lot of opportunities there and healthy andclean places to live in. Since there are a lot of opportunities in Wellington the estimated populationat June 2011 was 294,300 and 99% of Wellingtons Urban area is of that population. There a lot of people from different countries like Asians and Europeans that live in Wellington and there are a lotof people with different religions in Wellington like there are 2.2%Buddhists, 37.3% no religion,46% Christians, 2.7% Hindu, 1.2% Muslim, 0.4% Jewish, and 0.5% Maori Christian. Somelanguages that are spoken today are English, Maori, Chinese, and Hindu. Sometimes people like togo to a country when they have a holiday and in Wellington they celebrate Waitangi Day (the day theMaoris were introduced to the British kingdom) and one of the physical features in Wellington isMount Victoria. New Zealand is truly a Beauty to me like a pure jewel.
What made this happen?New Zealand is one of the countries that got colonized by the British but before
that it used to be a calm place where Maori tribes live, and where there are trees andmountains along the coast. When the British came at the early 1800s they had to start
cutting down trees so that they can build shelter and start a colony. Then after thatless than 2,000 Europeans started living in New Zealand after they discovered it andthe Maoris felt like they had lost a soul because they had lost their land. Some housesin Wellington are now mostly built in hills because they had no choice but to move in
the past. Now if you go to Wellington you can see a lot of houses on hills just becauseof the past.

SELLING WELLINGTON!
Wellington is a beautiful city and when the sun reects at the buildings it shineslike pure diamond. New Zealand wasnt a British colonization but as soon asthe British came they came in as if a tiger about to attack its prey.
Unfortunately for the Maoris they were controlled by the British kingdom but if the British hadnt come Wellington wouldnt be the city today. In the past yearsin the 1800s there were about 2,000 Europeans living in New Zealand but each year more people came and they rapidly developed the country evenmore and thats how Wellingtons population increased to 294,300 at June2011 just to see the stunning city. Since Wellington is a stunning city probably back then it was to so when the British came they had to start cutting downt rees to build houses on hills or mountains so that they can survive and start acolony and thats why when you go to Wellington today there are a lot of houses built on hills. Maybe Wellington has changed a lot but without theBritish New Zealand wouldnt be as remarkable as today .

Hanoi used to be a peaceful city as it is now.
Around 1950, the US attacked Vietnam, becausethey wanted to control Vietnam. The US wascapitalist and they didnt want Vietnam to becommunist. The US was worried that communismcould spread through out Asia. So that was howwar started between Vietnam and US. The US killeda lot of people during the war. Children lost theirparents and they starved to death. Also, manybuildings were destroyed, and the bombs also
destroyed the landscape. The government was soworried that the situation might get worse. Theeffect is that now, Vietnam is Socialist. Thegovernment controls the business, but people also
control the business a little bit. These situations arereally common to other countries. The war, and thegovernment. Vietnam is still working hard inSocialism, but I believe that Vietnam will continueto develop under socialism.

Once, Vietnam was
discovered by Mongols fromChina in 2879 B.C. Mongols
went to Vietnam, becauseVietnam was close to the sea
and there were a lot of natural resources. So it was a
good place to live in. Also, there were plenty of seafood
to eat and the weather was
really good. A lot of thingswere just like today. It was
just perfect to live.
Now, people go to Vietnam
such as Korean, and French,Because they can invest very
easily in there. Even thoughVietnam is still developing,
they dont have enoughmoney to invest, so if the
business man or other peopledo that for Vietnam and get
some of the things that theyinvested for them, there are a
lot of benets to bothVietnam and other people.
Today, people choose to live
in Vietnam, because of their job. Vietnam is Socialism, so
its easy to have a good
business. In Vietnam, there are
a lot of jobs, but many
peoples job is Ofcer, EnglishLanguage instructor, Farmer,
Designer, Design manager, andmore. But the major jobs are
Ofcer, Farmer, Fisher man,and Businessman. These are
the common jobs, becauseVietnam is close to the sea,
and there are a lot of farm,
and buildings. So almost of the people choose these jobs.
Since a lot of people went toVietnam and married with
Vietnamese, the population isnow over 90 million people.
There became a lot of religions, and languages. Like
this, Vietnam has a lot of similar things to other
countries. One of theexamples is China controlled
Vietnam in the history, butmany countries got controlled
by others too. People said inPhilippine, many people are
lazy, so Philippine cant reallydevelop fast but Vietnam is
developing really fast, and Ithink it will become one of
the reach countries in theworld.

After the Vietnam War,
People needed to develop
the environment, becauseduring the war, the US
spread defoliant and ruined
a lot of forest. people
worked hard to develop
Vietnam. A lot of plants and
buildings were destroyed. It
was so dangerous to the
citizens who were living
there. So they planted many
trees and built some more
buildings. Few years later,
Vietnam became a lot more
beautiful than before it used
to be. From around 22000,
Vietnam developed so fast.
Much more buildings and
shopping mall were there.
This show that Vietnamese
really cared about their
country, and citizens.
There is one bad cause, and
one good cause. The bad
cause is that after they builtmore buildings, cars, and
motorcycles, there became
more air pollutions. In
Vietnam, almost all of the
people ride a motorcycle.
More cars, motorcycles, and
factories causes more air
pollutions. THis means they
need to build fewer
factories, and make less cars
an motorcycles. The good
cause is that there becamehigher buildings, and a lot of
museums about Vietnam
War. This is a good
development, because there
is more space to build
buildings for those 90
million people in Vietnam,
and it makes the city
fancier. Also, it makes people
get interested in Vietnam
history. So if you go to
Vietnam now, you will see a
lot of fancy, and beautiful
buildings, and museums. It
will look similar to other
common countries.
After the people developed
Vietnam, Vietnam became
the 13th most populous
country in the world, and
8th most populous Asian
country. This shows that
Vietnamese workeddiligently. Also, now Vietnam
is known as a busy country
and the people think that
Vietnam will develop more,
and soon it will be in MDC
(More Developed
Country). And Im sure that
it will turn into MDC, and I
believe it.
Wonderful development

SINGAPORE IN THE PAST &SINGAPORE TODAY
According to the book Welcome to Singapore , Singapore reflects a society willing towork hard for the nation's interests and creates a stable country with a healthy economy. Itwasnt always like that. Let me tell you more about Singapore.
In 1824, the British took over Singapore. During World War II, the Japanese took control for a brief period but the British took control back soon after. Singapore joined theMalaysian Federation in 1963 but left in 1965 to become independent.
Even if Singapores situation looked a bit hopeless when they got kicked out of
Malaysias federation, their leader, Lee Kuan Yew was trying to make the most of what theyhad. With no natural resources other than labor force and deepwater ports, they also faced
problems such as dangers of attack by Indonesia, unemployment and lack of housing.
The Singapore government created jobs by attracting foreigners to build factories, oilrefineries and ship repairs. Now earning money, the government required Singaporeans to setaside a part of their salary to buy affordable apartments built by the government. Thegovernment also received secret advise from Israel and established a national service whichrequires all male citizens to serve the armed forces for at least 2 years.
Today, Singapore has a lot more wealth than before and is considered one of theFour Asian Tigers. This country is the 4 th leading financial center, 2 nd biggest casinogambling place, 3 rd largest oil refining place and has one (out of the 5) busiest ports in theworld. Singapore has many industries like electronics, chemicals, financial services, oildrilling equipment, petroleum refining, processing, processed food/drinks, rubber products, ship repair, offshore platform construction, life sciences, etc. The economy of Singapore isknown as one of the most competitive, business- friendly and freest. Modern Singapore hasshowed tremendous progress in changing their situations and building a strong nationalidentity.

SINGAPORES PEOPLESingapore is located off the southern tip of the Malay peninsula.
In 1819, Singapore was founded as a British trading post of the East IndiaCompany by Sir Stamford Raffles to challenge the Dutch trading post inthis region. The trading post attracted many people to live here.
Singapore today has oil refineries, ship repairing, electronics, chemicals, financial services, tourism and many more. It is one of theworlds most prosperous countries and consists of fifty-seven islands.Singapore is very clean, has many shops, has excellent medical service, strong law enforcement, good transportation, lots of job opportunities andtheir poverty level is low.
Because of this, about 4.8 million people live in Singapore.Languages in Singapore include: Mandarin, English, Malay, Tamil,Hokkien, Cantonese, Teochew and other Chinese dialects. This countryalso has a variety of religions: Buddhist (around 50%), Muslim (15%),
Christian (15%) and Hindus (a bit more than 3%). Some cool facts aboutSingapore are that they had the worlds first night zoo, the flying fox(largest bat) can be found in Singapore and that they have a languagecalled Singlish.
Even if Singapore is one (out of twenty) of the smallest countrieson Earth, it doesnt mean they are not as good as other countries. 'Smallcountries can do big things.
Come to Singapore! No regrets!
Singapore is known as the Garden City because it didsomething no other city has done. Singapore has built only on50% of their land! You know what that means? It means that theother 50% of their land are full of greeneries- lled with trees, plants, owers and much more beautiful things that make youfeel like youre the luckiest person in the world. Someone saysof Singapore, Modern Singapore has showed tremendousprogress in changing their situations and building a strongnational identity. Compared to the past, Singapore was plainwith only kampong houses but look at Singapore today! Thiscountry has built over 157,000 units of public housing, numerous schools, community centers, health clinics, factories, malls, gardens, attractions and many more I could not fit on this
paper. You would not want to miss out on this. Trust me, Ive
been there and wanted to stay longer! So come fly to Singaporetoday! Did I mention that their airport is gigantic and full of shops, restaurants, free Internet surfing, playgrounds, and somuch more? Singapore (The Garden City) is a place you will not regret traveling to.
SINGAPORES ENVIRONMENTSingapore is located in Southeast Asia and consists of 63 islands. Singapore naturally
has deep ports but limited land. Singapore used to have a land area of 581.5 sq km but becauseof their reclaimed land, it now has about 723.3 sq km of land. It is slightly bigger than MetroManila which has an area of 638.55 sq km.
Singapore used to be very plain with farmland and rainforest. Their houses were basically kampong houses. Kampong houses are made from wood with a zinc roof and thefloors are elevated by wood. They are usually surrounded by fruitful palm trees.
With increase in population and limited land, this country needed lots of land to buildhouses but didn't have enough so the government started reclaiming land for more space. Thegovernment then, built over 157,000 high-rise apartment units for public housing. The peoplealso built tall skyscrapers for their offices, residences, and hotels.
Even with rapid urbanization, Singapore balances their skyscrapers with 300 parksand 4 nature reserves. Almost 50% of this city- state is covered with greeneries and that is whyit is known as the 'Garden City' today.

A Singapore Experience
There is one thing I can say for sure
about my trip to Singapore last summer:I absolutely loved it. Although I hadvisited the country once before, it was atan early age so I didnt remember muchof it. I initially didnt know what toexpect, but upon stepping out of theChangi Airport, I was immediatelygreeted by an energizing whiplash of fresh air and sun. This refreshing dazewas amplified by healthy, brimming treeslining the roads and the cleanliness of the country, which is something the
nation is known for. Singapore madetourism all the more appealing with itswide array of first-class cuisines, fromthe authentic tastes of Hainanesechicken in small, traditional shops toswankier restaurants serving exquisitelycrafted dishes, opened by internationalnames. Shopping in Orchard Road was aparadise; it was an endless strip of booming complexes overflowing withhigh-end goods, crowded with hordes of both locals and tourists swerving in andout of the cutting-edge malls. I visitedSentosa Island for that dose of adrenaline and fun, which houses aUniversal Studios theme park as well asa MegaZip Adventure Park. I remembermy mother telling me how much theresort had progressed since she lastvisited and how the country, with nodirect access to the world's resources, transformed into such a dynamic nation. We stopped by several museums in thecountry as well, namely the SingaporeScience Centre, which was a very
interactive, hands-on, and mind-blowingeducational playground; and the lotus-shaped ArtScience Museum at the newlyopened Marina Bay Sands, that exhibitedwork by accomplished artists such as VanGogh and Salvador Dali. What madeSingapore so captivating was that therewas just so much to do for every aspectof my personality, and so much life atevery corner of the country. Everythingwas accessible with their efficiently-runtransportation systems such as the MRT,
and the welcoming citizens and vibemade the whole trip worthwhile. -Kimberly Go, 15

2! Marvelous Melbourne
Do you know why Melbourne is called MarvelousMelbourne? Well, it all started when gold was found nearMelbourne. Foreigners from all over the world rushed toAustralia like a herd of wild bulls, hoping to nd gold andstrike their fortune. Some people succeeded, while othersfailed to nd any gold and did not have enough money toreturn back to their country. Those people settled intoMelbourne and boosted the number of non-Indigenouspeople in Australia from 400,000 people in 1850 to1,100,000 people in 1860. Nowadays, almost 35% of thepopulation in Melbourne is composed of immigrants. Thanks to the Gold Rush, Melbourne earned the title of

Jerusalem is a very old city full of gods andwars, with one off the most interesting histories in the whole world. People havealways been coming to Jerusalem becauseits a holy place, for 4 big religions. The
Jews ruled Jerusalem until the Arabs came
and took Jerusalem from the Jews. Thensome Christians started to see Jesusbirthplace as a holy place, and the powerstarted to change in the 1000s. At rst
Jerusalem was a small peaceful place, justlike some citys in a story, and then 4religions, the Christians, the Jews, the Arabsand the Muslims started some wars over
Jerusalem that all of them wanted to beoccupying. Jerusalems gods have war andpeace at the same time, just as they havehad it in over 3000 years. Come and visitand you will learn much about gods, warsand stories.
Jerusalem is a really old and fascinating citythat got established 1000 bch by King David of Israel, very long ago but not asold as the old Greece and Egypt. Jerusalemalso has been attacked 52 times, awesomeright? Jerusalems position is between the
Meditarian Sea and the Dead Sea. Peoplehave always been coming to Jerusalembecause its a holy place, for 4 big religions. In Jerusalem the main exports are hightechnology equipment , f rui ts and
vegetables. In Jerusalem 82% of the peoplework in the service industries. People in
Jerusalem are Arabic, Jewish and theyspeak Hebrew, Arabic, and English. Thereligions in Jerusalem are Muslims,Christians, Arabs and Jews and that is someinformation of the old city Jerusalem.

I've been to Jerusalem. It is a largecity with several districts. I lived int h e e a s t e r n d i s t r i c t . M o s t l yPalestinians live there. I was in
Jerusalem to work on a project for
people with disabilities in Palestine. You have to go through militarychecks to leave Jerusalem and go inthe Palestinian territories. The borderguards were not nice. They seemed tobelieve that anyone in the Palestine isa terrorist. It was as a security check at an airport. Sometimes we had towait for hours to get through.
"
Some days I was a tourist in Jerusalem. The most famous sectionis the "old town" which is inside thewalls, with a moat around. There arefantastic bazaars and old houses. They sell fruits, vegetables, fabrics, furniture, jewelry and more. I drank adelicious pomegranate-apple juicethere. There are also a lot of holyplaces for Christians, Jews andMuslims. The different religiousgroups living in different parts of theold city and it feels like they do notlike each other. I thought it was crazyto walk the streets there. There is aholy wall below the Temple Mount, which is located inside the Old City. The Jews beg to the wall and injectssmall paper pieces with wishes in thecracks. They want the Temple Mountback because they believe that theirholy temple had been there at one
time. They dug secret passages underthe mountain to get a little closer. Iwent down there and looked. Themountain is their most sacred place. Now it is a Muslim mosque on the
hill called Al-Aqsa Mosque. It'sbeautiful to watch. It was built in the700th century and it is one of theholiest places for Muslims. I did notenter the mosque because it's sosacred. There is a stone in there withMohammed's foot prints (they say).He was there when he died, before heew to heaven. I had to just walk around and look at the mosquesoutside. When the Muslims should go
to the mosque, they have to walk on abridge over the Great Wall where Jews pray. The bridge is wrapped in anet so that those who go there cannotthrow things at the Jews below. Inanother end of town is the Christiansmemory location. There is a churchthat stands on the site of Jesuscrucied. It's also very beautiful, bothinside and outside. Every day,Christian visitors on the street walk the same way as Jesus did with hiscross. They go with a group leaderand someone in the group may carrya cross, just as Jesus did. There aredifferent stations marked with signs, much like an orienteering course. The road is called Golgotha. TheChristians in the church prey andthen they kiss a stone where it is saidthat Jesus clothes where washed. There is also a place where it is saidthat Jesus was buried a short distance
away - but nobody knows for sure. Jerusalem is also the Christians' mostsacred place.
"
It was weird and a little solemn to bein Jerusalem for it is a famous placewhere there have been manyhistorical events. But the strangestthing was to experience all thereligious people from the fourreligions. Everyone believed so hardin their own religion and that their
version is the truth. It felt hopelessand sad to see how religions make
people enemies.
