We would like to ring in 2015 by honoring the best of the best. It is once again time for our Annual Hero’s Awards. Each winter, we hold an annual employee awards ceremony. We know that individuals who work with our seniors are heroes, and this is an opportunity to honor those shining stars! The employee who demonstrates excellent customer service and goes above and beyond to make a resident feel comfortable, secure and at home, is given the Puts Customers First award. We also honor the employee who demonstrates teamwork across departmental lines and works with their fellow team members to care for our residents with the Team Member of the Year award. The employee who smiles a brighter smile, shares a kinder word and delivers tender loving care, is given Extra Mile Award. Drum roll please ... and the employee who best exemplifies all of the above qualities is awarded Belmont Village Employee of the Year. The employees are awarded a fifty dollar gift and the Employee of the Year is given one hundred dollars. We also use this ceremony to recognize individual employees throughout the year for their warmth and kindness. We continue to provideopportunities for all the groups tocome together for variousactivities. There are not onlyentertainment and parties, butalso presentations andeducational/ reminiscingprograms as well.

December Employee of the MonthJonathon is one of our nurses who works the
night shift from 10:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. He makessure all residents are safe and comfortable whenhe arrives for his shift. Jonathon makes roundsto ensure his staff have his support andresources. He is our Night-time Guardian Angel!

Veterans Day!We celebrated 18 veterans here
at Belmont Village! Severalveterans gathered to hear themany letters that we received fromthe 6th graders at WoodlawnMiddle School in Long Grove.Our residents wrote back,answering many of the students’questions. Four of our veteranslater went over to the school toanswer more questions and meetthe students. Several veterans alsoenjoyed attending the VeteranRecognition Program at CooperMiddle School. We salute ourveterans!

Our residents helped tobrighten the lives of 37disadvantaged girls ages 4 - 12 bypresenting them with their ownpersonalized stockings! The girlsthanked us with a balletperformance. The girls and theirfamilies were touched by thecandy and gift cards we placed inthe stockings!
They were made with lots of love!
Our Holiday inthe Tropics!
We had a fabulous time withour Jamaican One-Man Bandentertainer! Our first floor wastransformed into a brightCaribbean afternoon. There weremany employees, residents, andfamily dancers who looked great!The atmosphere was energizedand full of laughter. Theappetizers and tropical pinacoladas helped to make ourcelebration a huge success!
