    Jesus Expanded The Law

MATTHEW 5:21-22 NKJ21 You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'Youshall not murder,' and whoever murders will be in dangerof the judgment.22 But I say to you that whoever is angry with hisbrother without a cause shall be in danger of the judg-ment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall bein danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!'shall be in danger of hell fire.

MATTHEW 5:27-28 NKJ27 You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'Youshall not commit adultery.'28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman tolust for her has already committed adultery with her inhis heart.

MATTHEW 5:43-44 NKJ43 You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love yourneighbor and hate your enemy.'44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those whocurse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray forthose who spitefully use you and persecute you,

JOHN 13:34 NKJ34 A new commandment I give to you, that you loveone another; as I have loved you, that you also love oneanother.

JOHN 15:12-13 NKJ12 This is My commandment, that you love one anotheras I have loved you.13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay downones life for his friends.

JAMES 2:10 NKJ10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yetstumble in one point, he is guilty of all.

    Purpose Of The Law

ROMANS 3:19 NKJ19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says tothose who are under the law, that every mouth may bestopped, and all the world may become guilty beforeGod.

GALATIANS 3:24 NKJ24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

There is one major problem with Gods

law: no human has ever been able to keep it.That means we are in big trouble. WithoutGods help, we have no hope.

ROMANS 3:23 NKJ23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

ROMANS 6:23 NKJ23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God iseternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Saved By Faith In Christ Jesus

EPHESIANS 2:8 NKJ8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, andthat not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

ROMANS 10:9-10 NKJ9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus andbelieve in your heart that God has raised Him from thedead, you will be saved.10 For with the heart one believes to righteousness, andwith the mouth confession is made to salvation.

TITUS 3:4-7 NKJ4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Saviortoward man appeared,5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, butaccording to His mercy He saved us, through the washingof regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus

Christ our Savior,7 that having been justified by His grace we shouldbecome heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

GALATIANS 2:16 NKJ16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we havebelieved in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified byfaith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for bythe works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

    Live For Christ

ROMANS 7:4 NKJ4 Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead tothe law through the body of Christ, that you may bemarried to another, even to Him who was raised from thedead, that we should bear fruit to God.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:15 NKJ15 and He died for all, that those who live should live nolonger for themselves, but for Him who died for themand rose again.
