1
st Week in Lent:
Work of Mercy focus: “I was hungry and you gave me food.”
Many people in the world go hungry, they cannot grow their own food or do not have enough money to buy food. Some things you can do to help fed the hungry are: support HCA to help feed the hungry in countries, like Chile, Papa New Guinea. Appreciate the food you have and don’t waste it. You can even make donations to our Regina Food Bank.
Consider making a donation equal to a food item that is regu-larly bought by the family (i.e. eggs, fruits or vegetables, canned foods, a box of cereal, bag of rice, etc.).
Prayer for the Election of our New Bishop in the Archdiocese of Regina:
Heavenly Loving Father, giver of life and gifts, look kindly on your Church, and so open the minds of your people, especially the Church leaders and guide those who will choose the new Archbishop for the Archdiocese of Regi-na, that, we may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people and provide for our ministries. We ask this through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.

SPIRITUAL AND EDUCATION
In this Year of Mercy and to prepare for the relic of St. Faustina being present in our parish at the end of February, Spiritual Education will be showing "Ocean of Mercy" prior to Mass Sunday, Feb. 21st & Feb. 28th. We will start an hour before each Mass for the two Sundays (8:30 am and 4:00 pm). Below is a brief synopsis of the film. "At the dawn of the 20th century three voices rose up from Poland to proclaim an urgent message. This story examines and chronicles the phenomenal lives and spiritual legacy of Saint Faustina Kowalska, Saint Maximillian Kolbe, and Saint John Paul ll - Modern day Apostles of Mercy."
HOW TO CHOOSE A BISHOP
After the death of Most Rev. Archbishop Daniel Bohan, many people of the Archdiocese of Regina may wonder how a new Archbishop would be chosen. Fr. Thomas Nguyen did some research on the process of selecting a bishop. It is available on the Parish Bulletin Board in the Gerein Center and the Regina Archdiocesan website: https://archregina.sk.ca/news/2016/2/2/how-choose-bishop.

HOLY CROSS PASTORAL COUNCIL
Highlights of the Pastoral Council Meeting, February 9, 2016, 7:00 p.m. 1. The Chair, Ruth Robillard, welcomed the Council Members and the guest Rob Currie,
Director, Regina Catholic School Division. 2. Rob Currie addressed the current status of the plans for St. Andrew School when
St. Elizabeth, the new school to be built in the South East of the city is opened. Our concern: How will this affect our use of the hall at St. Andrew School? Mr. Currie believes we will have the use of the hall for another three (3) years before plans for St. Andrew School will be finalized. 3. The Constitution and Parish Goals were reviewed and any changes, additions or deletions will be brought to the AGM for ratification. 4. The AGM is scheduled for April 3, following the 9:30 Mass and Brunch. 5. Dan Devers is chairing the Ad Hoc Nominations Committee. 6. A Mass of Celebration for the Recognition of Volunteers will be offered on April 17 at
the 5:00 pm Mass. 7. Martin reported on the status and the information resources of the new Website. 8. The next meeting will be held on March 8, at 7:00 pm. Please note: The Minutes of both the Pastoral Council and Finance Council are posted on the bulletin board in the Gerein Centre.
