What We’ve Been Shooting
DENTON JAZZ FEST
The 2011 Denton Arts and Jazz fest was amazing, even though the weather cut it a day short. The weather for Friday and Saturday was gorgeous and allowed for some amazing shows go on stage!
Friday, my favorite group was Le Not So HotKlub De Denton, The main attraction that night was a group of former members of the One O'clock Lab band performing in a tribute to professor/director Leon Breeden. The three most note-able performers were Marvin Stamm, who is known as an amazing American bebop trumpeter. Tom “Bones” Malone was a member of the Blues Brother and currently is a member of the CBS Orchestra on the Late Show with David Letterman.

good until June 30th. DID YOU KNOW? Did you know that the first “ permanent” image was created in 1826 by French Inventor, Joseph Nicephore Niepce. Niepce used heliography, which he developed using a camera obscura to burn an image on a pewter plate coated with chemicals. Heliography means “sun-drawing”. This technique takes 8 hours and even though it has faded considerably, the image of the countryside at Niecpe’s estate is still visible on the plate today. This information was obtained from this website.

FACEBOOK GIVEAWAY
The great thing about social media is that it gives individuals an opportunity to discover so many different products and companies. Social media also gives small businesses a chance to reach customers from anywhere! That being said, I saw a post from a fantastically creative boutique on my Facebook page asking for sponsors for a 3000 fan giveaway, I jumped at the chance to get my business name out there! I have been watching Dashingly Dainty Designs for a few months (at least) and I just love the

One Shot Photography is trying to coordinate an exciting fundraising opportunity for the Denton Animal Shelter. The Shelter has been trying to raise money for a new building. The goal is to take photos of animals from the shelter that have found happy “tails” with their new families, and create and sell a photo book online, with all proceeds going to The Denton Animal Shelter Foundation! Stay tuned as details develop!

The Tex-Mex group, The Texas Tornadoes, is on the way back and I just loved their music. They have dedicated their tour to Freddy Fender, and even played Until the Next Tear Drop Falls, one of my all time favorite Freddy Fender songs!!
