HOW DO YOU COME ACROSS?

How do I come across?

It is often not about what I do or say or how I behave, more often than not it is about :

HOW DO I COME ACROSS at others.

It is about their frame of reference and how they interpret my behavior.

Stephen Covey said: “We see the world, not as it is, but as we are - or, as we are conditioned to see it.”

How do others “get” you?

The more you understand your own behavior, the more you can be aware of how you come across at others.

This is helpful for you as a leader, as a parent , as a friend, a partner , co-worker etc.

There are behavioral clues that can help you interpret other people’s behavioral styles and thus help you identify how to best approach them for the most effective communication and relationship.

For example: CHANGE

We all look and deal differently with change:

There are those who love change, in fact need changes constantly. These are people full of energy, very direct, competitive and goal focused.

Then there are those who find it very difficult to deal with change. These are people who are much better in a more routine setting, a team environment; they process information internally and very logically.

So how do YOU come across in “change”

Do others perceive you as a (maybe passive aggressive) resister to change?

Do others perceive you as a change initiator?

Do they see you as a creator of change?

Do they think you might over analyze change?

All these perceptions will influence HOW YOU COME ACROSS.
