Quick Start

Welcome to the VibraImage World! Thank you for your purchase of VibraImage system. This Manual is written to help you enjoy vibraimaging and open new features in well-known objects! VibraImage technology measures micromovement (micro motion, vibration) of person by standard digital, web or television cameras and image processing.

VibraImage is designed for psychophysiological diagnostics and psychological researches: behavior detection and psychophysiological control of person; psychophysiological personal diagnostics based on corresponding statistic norms; control of treatment, therapy, medication and healing processes.

Before starting

Before starting VibraImage program you must install all needs drivers and software: Dongle driver; WDM-compatible video device driver; DirectX 9.0 software or later; Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 and 3.5; MS VS 2015 Redistributable software. System requirements: System type 64-bit Operating System Processor PC with Pentium Core 2Duo 2400 or better RAM 1024 MB or better HDD 100 GB or more free space

For modes: Micro, Macro, LD

Correct VibraImage investigation requests: The object (person) should be well and uniformly illuminating. Camera must provide black-and-white, precise and contrast image of person.

Wrong!!! Low quality – face is small

Wrong!!! Low quality – up is cut

For modes: Micro, LD

The image of the person should be high quality, facial size must be maximum and facial position must be in the center of the screen. Horizontal facial size should be not less than 200 pixels.

Wrong!!! Low quality - illumination is low


Natural illumination of object can be used if speed of natural light changes does not exceed 1 lux/sec. Illumination of object by fluorescent lamps with illumination in the range 400 - 600 Lux in object plane is preferable.

Wrong!!! Camera vibrations


Television (IP, web) camera used for person investigation must be fixed and haven’t vibrations more than 1 mkm/s.

Moving objects mustn’t be on the image background.

Wrong!!! Not one person in frame


VibraImage is designed for investigation the only one object in the frame, therefore other persons must go out from the frame.

Correct poses of the person


VibraImage is sensitive for macro movements, therefore for correct examination, person must in natural and quasi stable state (standing or sitting).

Program start

After the first program start you will see white screen because there was no video source choice.

Firstly you need to select program language in the menu «Settings» => «Language» and stand camera settings in the menu «Settings» => «Video». Recommended web camera is Microsoft LifeCam Cinema for Micro and LD modes.

After correct start of VibraImage in the main window there is an image from connected video device. Select mode Micro, Macro or LD in the menu «Settings» => «Defaults»

You can configure the size, position and the number of displayed panels and windows using the left mouse button

Attention. After start of VibraImage program and person vibraimage displaying on the screen loading of the computer central processor power must be less than 60 %. Please, control this parameter.


VibraImage program has auto checking function and image quality control during the test. Auto checking function switch on in Information panel in the mode S in the section «Quality test». By default in the modes LD and Micro «Quality test» is enable. To switch on «Quality test» => «Enable» = Yes.

Error 1 – indicates when facial image is lower than necessary. For cancel this error is need to move checked person near to camera or start zoom function on camera.

Error 2 – indicates when camera noise level is higher than necessary. The reason of this error could be low illumination, incorrect camera settings or camera vibration.

Error 3 – indicates when computer input frame rate is lower than necessary. Requested norm for processed frame rate is more than 24 f/s. This errors indication was done for deleting unqualified staff influence during results control.

Submenu «Preset» or toolbar buttons defines the type of the display image: the real image (mode LD), vibraimage (mode VI), the vibra-aura on the real image (mode AR), the vibra-aura on vibraimage (mode AV). Also, you can configure the corresponding buttons on the toolbar.

In «VI» mode [«VibraImage mode»] displays vibraimage of person. Color for every image pixel depends on its amplitude or frequency of vibrations. In VibraMed version color for every image pixel depends on its vibrations frequency.

In «AV» mode [«Aura Vibraimage mode»] external vibraimage (aura) allocated around the person. Aura line size depends on medium line vibration amplitude. Aura line color depends on maximum line vibration frequency inside vibraimage contour.

In «AR» mode [«Aura on the Real image»] the aura of the person is shown around his real image.

Also Item «Mode» and toolbar buttons selects additional settings of information in image area: In «mode Am» visualization and calculation of object parameters processed by pixel vibration amplitude. In «mode F» visualization and calculation of object parameters processed by pixel vibration frequency. Note, double click by the left button of a mouse in the image field makes RESET of all saved up information and statistics about frames and start new cycle collection of information.

Indication of information column depends on using mode:

In the mode «VI» information about adjustments of system and results of data vibraimage processing is displayed;

In the mode «LD» current values and LD rates of based and fast processed VibraImage parameters A1-A4, F1-F8, S1-S7, P1-P19 are displayed;

In the mode «M» the average values of vibraimage parameters which have been calculated and are average for the certain period are displayed;

In the mode «C» correlation of VibraImage parameters are displayed;

In the mode «GR» information about all graphs of VibraImage parameters are displayed;

In the mode «S» settings of basic parameters for work with VibraImage are configured;

In the mode «DB» input and selection of the demographic information and a folder for archive storage is configured.

In the bottom part of information panel displays three windows with results of the frequency analysis. In the first window the frequency analysis vibraimage on the whole frame (by red color - amplitude, green color - frequency of vibration pixels) is displayed. In the second window the frequency and amplitude histograms for external vibraimage (aura), and in the third - spectrums of the frequency analysis with application of FFT of two parameters (F1 fast and A1 fast) are displayed.

In the mode «VI» information panel needs to check following parameters: Speed of input frame from the camera should be not less than 25-30 frames per second («In» parameter) at resolution not less 640х480 pixels («Width» and «Height» parameters). Maximum number of the processed frames per second used for calculation («Fast processing» parameter) must be equal value of «In» parameter. «Stream errors» – The counter of mistakes which increases if time between the next accepted frame unstably. This mistake can arise, if productivity of a computer suffices or poor-quality video is loaded; «Base processing» – Number of the processed frames per second used in base algorithm. Normal value ≈ 5.

VibraImage data analysis

Mode: Micro

Press button for start VibraImage analysis in «М» mode. Start of information accumulation is made by a choice of item [«Measurement»] the menu [«Action»] or pressing of the toolbar button. After start in the top of an information column there is a running line [«Progress»], displaying a course of data accumulation process.

In a mode «М» an information column allows to control average for the period parameters value of psycho-emotional person conditions and their deviation from the established norm.

In the analysis mathematical expectation of M, a mean squared deviation of S and variability of the V following psychophysiological parameters of the person measured in a mode M by the program VibraImage are used: Aggression (Р7), Stress (Р6), Tension (F5X), Suspect (Р19), Balance (Р16), Charm (Р17), Energy (Р8), Self-regulation (Р18), Inhibition (F6), Neuroticism (F9). For each parameters the minimal cMin and the maximal cMax values of parameter for the period are displayed. Also the minimal NMin and the maximal NMax values of parameter for a normal condition of the person are displayed. Note, after ending of the information accumulation some lines of an information column can be allocated by color: - parameters, which values less than the set limits are allocated.

After the end of examination in a mode «M» the user can view full results of research in one file of the «*.xls» format (viewing requires existence of the Microsoft Excel program of version 97-2003 above). This file includes all gathered information about the current psychophysiological state of person.

Mode: LD

Press button for start VibraImage analysis in «LD» mode. Start of information accumulation is made by a choice of item [«Start LD block»] the menu [«Action»] or pressing of the toolbar button. After start in the LDW panel press button «>>» for beginning a questionnaire.

Choose a questionnaire in the menu «File» => «Open» => file of the «*.ldq» format in the directory VibraImage10. All information about LD VibraImage parameters for lie detection in the LD information panel are displayed. Also after start LD block you can see graphs of parameters A1, F3, F6, S2, P2 (llevel of lie)

For each parameters the current V, minimal cMin (stat period) and bMin (base period) and the maximal cMax and bMax values of parameter are displayed. Also you can set rate of parameters for each calculation.

After the end of examination in a mode «LD» the user can view full results of research in a database folder. Psychophysiological diagram in the inset «T» are displayed.

Color line of psychoenergetic state changes corresponds to the "color" of the test question: general questions – blue; control questions – green; relevant questions – red.

Rc > Rr; NDI (test is passed positively if total psychophysiological reaction at the answer to control questions is higher, than at the answer to relevant questions); Rc = Rr; INC (the test result isn't defined if total psychophysiological reaction at the answer to control questions is approximately equal to reaction at the answer to relevant questions);

Rc < Rr; DI (test is passed negatively if total psychophysiological reaction at the answer to control questions is lower, than at the answer to relevant questions). At decision-making the sum of "scales" on relevant RQ questions and control CQ questions is considered. If Σ(RQ)> Σ(СQ), a person lies (DI). Max result – estimation of psychophysiological reactions to stimuli is carried out taking into account the different factors of significance vibraimage parameters (Rc). Average result – average estimation of psychophysiological reactions to stimuli is carried out taking into account the equal factors of significance vibraimage parameters (Rv). Integrated result – integral estimation of psychophysiological reactions to stimuli is carried out taking into account the equal factors of significance vibraimage parameters (Rv). The final result of psychophysiological testing is defined according to the following conditions: NDI: sRr – sRc>0 или NDI: sRr>0 DI: sRr– sRc<0 INC: 0,01<sRr – sRc < 0,01

Mode: Macro

Macro mode allows to indicate a suspected person with other movement value than other persons in crowd.

Select Macro default settings in the menu settings and set critical level, auto capture image (time between potentially dangerous person) and Save image files => Yes. In the window Image capture you can see potentially dangerous person with suspect more than critical level.

Set networks IP cameras in the submenu network service in information panel «S».

For correct analyze you need persons in the same position: frontal or profile. Select optimal face detection. Set Face detection => No if people are visible in a profile. For high accuracy behavior detection you need more time and more person’s size in frame.
