RESPONSIBLE FORbull Responsible for the effective
coordination of youth outreach programs and services and involvement in all HYS services and activities
bull Supporting a participative and team focussed service and participating in cooperative service and team planning
OBJECTIVESbull To participate in and build a strong
teamwork environment and a focus on participation by young people staff volunteers other stakeholders and the community
bull To coordinate effective youth outreach services and other support services activities and programs for young people in the area
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESbull Youth Outreach activitiesbull Plan and coordinate delivery of outreach
activities of HYS including outreach with other services and schools at events and outreach directly in the community to make contact with young people
bull Provide information and referral to young people and where appropriate advocate for their needs
bull Set up mechanisms in service planning to engage and encourage participation by young people
Other youth services and programs
bull Participate in planning for services and programs delivered by HYS
bull Assist in delivery of other services for young people offered by HYS including drop in and other centre based programs at both Hyland Road and Merrylands Youth Centre
bull Assist in band nights and other events for young people
bull Assist in delivery of school holiday programs and trips
Organisational development bull Implementation of policies procedures
and systems for HYSbull Decision-making reporting and other
responsibilities within agreed delegations as set out in the HYS delegations as updated from time to time
bull Collect information required for reporting and planning
bull Reporting to the Board and funding bodiesbull Participation in staff meetings and work
planningbull Work within all legal requirements relating
to operation of HYS
Strategic Planningbull Participate in Strategic Planning process
for HYS bull Participate in the implementation of the
Strategic Plan
Service planning and management bull Participate in regular service planning in
all program areas in conjunction with the Manager and other service staff through staff meetings
bull Prepare reports and key data on program performance and reports to funding bodies
Financial Management and Growthbull In conjunction with other staff and the MC
identifying funding opportunities and opportunities to develop or expand HYSrsquos programs and services in response to needs
bull Work with Manager to prepare funding applications for new and existing services and programs
bull Work with Manager to provide input to budget preparation and planning and review budgets prior to presentation to the Board
bull Approve expenditure within delegations from the Board
People Managementbull Provide day to day support and
direction for assistant youth workers working in HYS programs
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)bull Responsible for reading understanding and
abiding by the organisationrsquos Occupational Health amp Safety Policy
bull Take reasonable care of the health and safety of self and others co-operate with the Board of Directors in its efforts to comply with OHampS requirements
