‘Go for the Green’ and enjoy the great outdoors at Pine Bluff 4-H Camp

near Decorah! Tube the Upper Iowa River, bunk in primitive cabins,

night hike through Pine Bluff Forest! Campers will ‘Go for the Green’ by

challenging their abilities through participating in team building

activities to make it to the podium!

This camp is a 2 day, 1 night adventure with new friends, cabin team

challenges, games, and so much more! Camps are scheduled for

June 18-19 or July 28-29.

Camp T-shirt is included in the registration fee. Don’t delay...sign up

2020 4-H Summer Adventure Registration Information:

Join us for 2 days and 1 night for the 2020 4-H Intermediate Summer Adventure Trip. Youth will be staying overnight at a motel in Davenport. The adventure starts at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library in West Branch, then travels to the Quad Cities to get behind the wheel of innovation at the John Deere Pavilion, have some fun at Michael's Fun World amusement park, discover new things at the science museum and more! This fun and educational experience is open to all 4-H members currently in 6

th, 7

th and 8

th grades.

Complete the registration form and return with registration fee to the Allamakee County Extension Office. Space is limited. Registration fee is $150.00* and is due by April 15, 2020.

Bucket-of–TALL-Corn Contest

Goal: Grow the tallest corn stalk by fair time (with supplied seeds)!

Who: Allamakee County 4-H members (K-12)

When: Please return below form to the Allamakee County Extension Office by March 23 and $2 registration

fee. We will then mail you your three seeds the week of April 1. If you would prefer to pick them up, please

mark on registration form.

Where: Bring your Bucket-of-TALL-Corn to the 4-H Building, Allamakee County Fair Grounds

When: Planting date determined by contestant

Please have your stalk to the 4-H Building on Tuesday, July 7 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM

Champion will be announced at the Youth Showcase on Tuesday, July 7 starting at 7:00 PM

Rules: There are zero rules! Plant seeds a 5 gallon bucket and put your bucket anywhere you wish to grow it.

Feel free to decorate your bucket. Make sure the selected spot is sunny and wind-protected — an area where

the giant Jack-in-the-corn-stalk will not interfere with overhead power lines or hinder TV signals! You can even

inject the corn with base-ball-like steroids if you think it will help.

About the Seed: NEW SEED VARITIES! This year’s seeds were donated by Seed Savers, Decorah. This

year there are three NEW varieties of seeds: Bloody Butcher, Johnson County White, & Hop McConnell

Speckled.

Please complete and return to Allamakee County Extension Office by March 23 with $2.00 registration
