BeachRangers

2016

Who are we?Beach Rangers has been going for 6 years now, run

by the Marine Biological Association, to provide free, marine education sessions for Plymouth

communities.

Throughout the summer we've hosted events atKinterbury Creek, Batten Bay and Devil's Point each

week. From poetry to plankton, art to algae, music tomud, we've done it all! This years 'Guest Scientist'programme was a hit with MBA scientists coming

down on the shore and explaining their research! Wehave delivered these sessions with help from lots of

different organisations and people, and of courseour awesome volunteers!

We think that Beach Rangers is a vital communityasset, with families returning year on year. It

provides a safe, secure space for families to learnabout nature and the importance of conserving our

environment, as well as nurturing other interestssuch as art and music.

Here's what people had to say...

My 3 children, their friends and I totally loved

beach Rangers at Devils point! What more could

children want in life - beach, sea, loads of

sardines and face paints! Thank you, we will be

back!

My animal loving children

thoroughly enjoyed the Charles

Darwin beach ranger session, it

was their first introduction to

evolution and was quite an eye

opener! The message in a bottle

was a great idea and both children

enjoyed hunting for creatures in

the creek. Thanks for providing

such enjoyable yet educational

activities during the holidays. Your

work is much appreciated!

My two boys love Beach Rangers! They

always ask when the sessions are going to

run each Summer! The boys have learned

all about sea creatures and the importance

of looking after them and their habitat.

They have had great fun, we hope Beach

Rangers continue forever!
