1- Locate the assignment in the course inside the Blackboard as shown below 2- Click on
the assignment to view further details and to submit it.
3- A new screen will open which is divided into two sections. In the first section the instructor
will give instructions and some information about the assignment, such as the due date and
any other information. The other part is a write submission link. This would open a text box

Browse My Computer to choose a document to upload. Locate the file you wish to upload
and click on Open.
Please make sure that you do not have any spaces or special characters (e.g.
!"£$%^&*()#'@[]{};:'\|/,<>) in the filename.
If you need to upload more than one file, click on Browse My Computer again and repeat
the above step.

5- Last step is to submit the assignment. To submit your assignment click on Submit.
Make sure to click on Submit once only, and then wait until the transfer finishes. Do not
double click on Submit, do not click the back button during the transfer, and do not click on
submit again even if you think it is taking too long. Failure to follow this guidance will lead to
your assignment being corrupted.
Important note about the Save as Draft button

The Save as draft option will save the assignment but WILL NOT submit it to the course
instructor – instead it allows a copy of the work to be saved in Blackboard, which may then
be downloaded and worked on by the student at another time or location. If you wish to
submit the assignment, make sure to click on Submit.
Taking Tests/Quizzes in Blackboard Steps below explain the way to attempt a test in your courses
1. Find the test in the course and click on its name
2. A question will come up on your screen to confirm that you wish to take the test, click Yes if
you are ready.
3. In some tests you may be asked to enter a password which will be provided by your instructor.

Discussion Board
The Discussion Board allows class members to leave messages (and responses to messages) for
others to read. Discussions are organized into different forums (topics). Inside each forum, messages
are organized into threads (a thread is an original message and all the other messages replies to that
message).
Once you click on the hyperlinked forum title, you will see threads posted on the discussion board.
Be sure to look at the unread posts column to see how many unread posts are present in this
thread. Use the total posts column to view the total number of posts present (the number of unread
posts and total posts includes the initial thread).
