If the call was done in the last month a basic search should be sufficient to find the call. If it was farther back then use search criteria to pin it down.

If you know that it was a 0% validation call then you can set validity “equal” “0”

As you can see almost nothing was entered on this PPCR and it was generated by mistake. Missing validation fields are listed at the top of the page on the web client.

If this is your callsheet then there should be a delete button at the bottom of the page. If you know it was generated by accident then please delete it. If there is any doubt then please contact the AIC to confirm.

Only admins can delete callsheets not created by the user. If you post a callsheet accidentally because you did not change the account at shift change, then before logging out please go into the call and put the incident number as “DELETE” and post/sync again we can go through and remove these at the end of the month.

Hopefully as the laptops become more routine these “mistake” callsheets will be generated in smaller numbers. We are still seeing it, but less than before.

If your laptop gets stuck with a dim screen, please make sure that both battery doors are fully closed and locked. The batteries are located on the left and right side of the laptop, identifiable by picture labels. Getac technical support has advised us that there is a safety interlock that immediately dims the screen when a battery door is opened (presumably to warn you that things will get even darker if you proceed to pull the battery out...) As part of your truck check, please look over the computer and ensure that the watertight doors protecting the batteries and hard drive are properly closed and locked.

Please continue to give short sheets to the receiving hospital or immediately turn in an incomplete printout of the callsheet.

Completed callsheets should be sent in within 12 hours.

For now you are not obligated to fill out those forms UVA is handing out as long as you are turning in something at handoff.

Charge port in back. Every truck will have a charger on it. Laptops are to remain plugged in when not in use.

USB port on side. Needed to plug into printers at UVA and MJH. Drivers are already installed, just plug in and print!

Converts from laptop to tablet mode. There’s a stylus inside the handle if you want to use it, but fingers are fine too.

When not in use we recommend using hibernate mode to save on battery life.

Decon with appropriate wipes. Keep port covers shut when doing so and when ports are not in use. Avoid bringing laptop into contact ISO rooms.

VERY IMPORTANT: If you are on scene, do not put the laptop down! They have nice shoulder straps to facilitate this. Losing one would be quite bad. If you do accidentally leave one behind (it’s going to happen), it is your responsibility to recover it as soon as possible. If you can’t get access into where you left it, then leave contact information with the patient so they can return it to you.

Important Points to remember:

Do not neglect patient care in favor of playing with the laptops

Both UVA and MJH still require a paper something to be left behind before you leave (even if you’re leaving in a hurry), and completed paper documentation within 12 hours. This can be a field bridge print out, or a physical call sheet. You may turn in a callsheet with vitals and demographics and send in the full

callsheet by fax later. The laptops are set up to print in the red room so you can send a fax.

If you fully document all demographics, assessments, and procedures on Field Bridge, you do not need to turn in a paper copy of your PPCR at the building.

When the iPads get rolling, they’re supposed to function as WiFihubs, so the laptops will have internet. They are for RIDS, Field Bridge, and squad business only.

Try to use this tool to improve documentation during cardiac arrests. If resources are available, designate one person as code scribe (Cannot be the AIC!). The AIC can call out interventions as they occur and the scribe can document. Times will be automatically recorded.

For now, ECGs will be documented by completing the ECG documentation form in the mail room and attached to the initial email. Remember that you should be leaving a copy of 12-leads in the patient’s chart as well as on the paperwork you turn in.

Great for inputting information on frequent fliers (If you just start typing the name into the boxes, common patients will show up in a drop down menu) but make sure you double check all the info with the patient!

An electronic signature is acceptable for a drug box exchange if you print out a copy to bring to the pharmacy

Remember that you need an incident number, interventions, demographics, and a doctor’s signature to give to the pharmacy. A full callsheet is not necessary

This requirement may be gone soon so keep an eye out for updates.

For now print out extra copies to leave in registration (it is UVA’s paper). We can probably remove this step soon.

If you print out a copy of a completed callsheet to fax then turning it in at the building is fine. We hope to have the capability to fax directly to the hospital without this added step soon.

We would like 100% validation on submitted PPCRs if possible. Put in a narrative as you would on a paper PPCR and interventions using the tools. You do not need to fill in every box, only those that are highlighted your narrative, patient meds and allergies, and interventions if applicable.
