Page 2: BDC Anniversary 2011

It has been three fruitful and blessed years for Bur Dubai Church who wade obstacles and struggles but still God has made it even a founded community of believers. Three years as a church, and not an easy one I can say, as one of the workers who saw the hardships, each one faced from an inconsistent workers; fluctuating numbers of church attendees; problems of personal lives of key

workers; to lack of pastors to preach and help pasturing a very young church. But through the years God has been faithful and I am a witness of how He moved and how He touched not only the lives of the attendees but also for us His servants. For many times He showed that during those trying times aside from having each one of us united to do His works, He remained faithful and blessed the labors of our love.

“Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58

Now that we are celebrating once again another year of triumphs and victories, I looked back on those times I almost went to another direction (another church) being asked to help them, but I stood on my earlier decision that this is where God wants me to hone and use my gifts and true enough this church has been my family all along. Oh yes, like an earthly family you cannot do away with heart aches, airing heads, tantrums etc. but when you say family, you get to accept and forgive them. I grew up in my faith loving and giving part of myself into the ministry and into the church, and that I honor my GOD, all for the glory of God.

Somewhere along the way you will get into someone else’s nerves doing what you thought will please your God. And suddenly you will have anxiety or apprehension because you might step on others foot and be offended. Never fear for a good work done in good deeds will always reach the heavens throne. Being a church worker doesn’t relieve you from controversies or being hurt in the process even if you are surrounded by Christians. You just have to know where you stand.

Towards Fourth Year, what do we see in this coming year? What should our church do to better serve the church and in the process please God? I pray that we will continue to run the race without any apprehensions nor hesitation. I pray that we will continue to be united as one body of Christ. I pray that we will become our God wants us to be in His eyes and in the eyes of the world. No matter what your answer is I believe in my heart that we will all do it for the Glory of God.

Happy 3rd year anniversary my family.Brother Leo Duka

For The Glory of Godthe

Heaven’sLight

The heavens declare the glorious glory of God, and proclaim His wisdom, power, love, mercy and goodness, that all ungodly men are left without excuse. They speak themselves to be work of God’s hands; for they must have a Creator who is eternal, infinitely wise, powerful and good. The counter changing of day and night is a great proof of the power of God, and call us to observe, that as in the kingdom of nature, so in that of providence, he forms the light and creates the darkness, and set the one against the other. The sun in the firmament is an emblem of the Sun of righteousness, the Bridegroom of the church and the light of the world, diffusing divine light and salvation by his gospel to the nation of the earth.

Let us pray for the time when he shall enlighten, cheer and make fruitful every nation on earth, with the blessed salvation. They have no speech or languge, so some read it, and yet their voice is heard. All people may hear preachers speak in their own tongue the wonderful works of God. Let us give God the glory of all the comfort and benefit we have by the lights of beyond them to the Sun of righteousness.

The Heaven’s Light | Bur Dubai Church | 2

The Glory of God cannot be hidden. We are surrounded by a magnificent display of God’s glory being proclaimed. The heavens and the earth point us out that there is a Creator who amazingly and magnificently design all that we see. The sun, moon and the stars, the seas, trees, birds and the fields we’re created and they never cease to perform their purpose of bringing

glory to God.

Psalm 139 says that every human being is fearfully and wonderfully made. God’s very own character goes into the creation of every person. All of us are Gods greatest workmanship with the ultimate purpose of loving and glorifying God through living a life of worship to our Maker. Our heart, our soul and mind should be filled with Christ bearing His very nature, and loving Him with all of our being.

WIN BDC is 3 years old now, no longer an infant, striving to walk, living in a small world, Dubai. The Church will continue pursuing to exist with the mission of bringing people of any nation into a growing relationship to Christ and leading people to glorify God. We all have seen God’s glory manifested in our midst. The many lives of the people that has been transformed, our endeavor and common passion to reach those who are in need and share the gospel of Christ are all witnesses of His glory and power being declared. And as we all celebrate God’s faithfulness today, may we all continue to learn to declare His glory in every opportunity that He is giving us to serve Him.

May our lives continually be a living testimony of God’s love and faithfulness and be a light to this darkened world. May our redeemed lives together with all of God’s creation declare and illuminate the glory of God!

Happy 3rd year Anniversary WIN-BDC!

What an Awesome and Glorious God we serve!Pastor Dennis and Sister Janette Moncayo

Our Ultimate Purpose

to Glorify GodThe heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the works of His hands. Psalm 19:1

Page 4: BDC Anniversary 2011

Christians always believe that God has a purpose for everything. The Scriptures says that everything happens for a reason. Ecclesiastes 3 says that to every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose; and in Romans 8:28 it says that all things work together for the good of those who love God; those who are called according to His purpose. But can we discern God’s purpose in our lives? How do we discern it.

When we left Dubai to relocate to Singapore we believed that God must have a purpose for us otherwise why uproot us from our ministries, our own son and our extended family, and a place where we have comfortably settled in for almost 8 years. We believed that somehow God will use us mightily in our new home just as He had used us in Dubai. But as the clock continued to tick and months passed, I started questioning myself whether I listened for God’s leading or am I missing it.

To be honest, I started to get worried but I held on to my belief, and kept telling myself that my God is a God who makes no mistake just as He made no mistake when He told Noah to build an Ark in the middle of a forest hundreds of miles away from water.

WIN SQ is a big church and its many activities are structured a bit differently from WIN BDC or WIN UAE for that matter, is not short on workers especially Pastors. We are fortunate that the Head Pastor, Ptr. Butch Yu and his wife, Sis. Manju are someone we know

from before and it helped eased our transition, but still I felt I am yet to get involved in a ministry.

As a Pastor in WIN BDC, my mindset was that God will use me in the Preaching ministry. However, I forgot that our God is not a God whose ways are confined. We believe that He has already revealed His purpose for relocating us here and not in the manner that we have been expecting.

We believe that the reason we are here is so we can be closer to home and thus enable us – especially Mila - to go home to Quezon City often where my brother in law is staying in our house. For a long time my brother in law seemed to have lost his zest for life and his will to live basically. For a long time too, Mila has been trying to bring him back to the mainstream of existence and more importantly, to being saved. When we were in Dubai, Mila kept ministering to him but because of distance, it did not progress much, but since we came to Singapore, Mila has been able to come and go to Quezon City often and kept on ministering to her brother.

My brother in law has now accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior and he is regularly attending worship service and also having a one on one fellowship with a pastor.

I believe I may still be used by God in the preaching ministry again in the future, but right now, it is our belief He has placed us here for the very purpose of saving my brother in law. That in itself is worth a lifetime of preaching. The Scriptures says that even if only one soul is saved, the heavens rejoice.

God Bless,Pastor Alex Labor

3 | The Heaven’s Light | Bur Dubai Church

We are one in celebrating with WIN Bur Dubai in its 3rd year church anniversary!

I can still remember how it started 3 years ago, when all the other Dubai churches excitedly started their worship services only for Bur Dubai left to still be unsure and praying about what the future holds for their community. But here we are today, greatly

blessed by God for His faithfulness throughout the first three years of the church community.

May the Lord strengthen and extend the influence and leadership of Pastor Dennis and Sis. Janet and all the other leaders of WIN Bur Dubai.

Glory belongs to God alone and only His people can speak of this glory for they are living in God. The glory revealed to us through Jesus Christ our Lord, and He himself is the glory of God, in Him we move and live and every man who draws to him will experience God’s glory.

Declaring God’s glory is what the psalmist says in Psalm 19:1-6; he express it the way how he knows God and how he marvelled in Almighty’s creation. We also can do the same, we can declare His glory according to what He revealed to us personally and as a community, we marvelled also to what He

has done in our lives; how he saved, sustained and redeemed us.

The third WIN-BDC anniversary celebration will be marked by worship and thanksgiving to our God for He allowed us to be qualified as his servants and be used as a channel of blessings as we proclaim His Word and as we demonstrate His power.

Happy Third Anniversary to all of you!

In Christ service, Pastor Andy Clamor BDC Senior Pastor 2009

Declaring God’s Glory

The Heaven’s Light | Bur Dubai Church | 4

In the beginning Genesis outlines that God created the Heavens and the Earth. He exhibits perfections on all His works, words and plans. His beauty emanates from His character for all that He is. He alone can uphold nations, community, family and Church.

Rightly so, as WIN BDC looks back all these three (3) years we could never have made it without you Lord!

Indeed, thank you! Your Grace never ceased to amaze us. We declare and Glory in your presence.

Your Grace alone made us and as your Church; going thru facets of life is never simple and it could not have been done any other way, truly you are the Potter, grateful for your molding God. We not only experience, taste but above all witness of your

goodness and faithfulness. In the course of trials and victory your Glory is constant and in our journey ahead, good and bad times; thick and thin may your unfailing love sees us through. You are the fountain of our worship that nourishes this church.

Let WIN BDC deeply incarnate the gospel of Jesus Christ and plant it in every soul, making disciples in the many years to come, the only hope for the world’s transformation. Today we celebrate, declaring the marvels of God’s salvation in our lives as it knows no boundaries through the power of your Holy Spirit in us.

In this Anniversary may all the more our lifelong passion of knowing and loving you grows!

In God’s love,Sister Hearty

Bro. Egay Parial

It is our prayer that, as workers. we would all be spiritually cleansed and equipped that we may be worthy, committe and willing to do God’s work. May we continually seek spiritual growth and revival to keep us always prepared to respond to God’s call and allow the Holy Spirit to work through us and in us.

Bro. Kokoy & Sis. Charlotte Yude

I pray that BDC will continue to be a blessing to many not only when they come to know the BDC family but to that level their lives will be changed and their

lives will never be the same again.

Most of the BDC leaders are young who would like to learn more of Him and are hungry to serve Him. In response to our focus this year which is to pray, study and know him more, we leaders have design a program to know Him more and be equipped as we do our ministry. We started it by devoting our time every after service last June studying the life and ministry of Jesus. Through this teaching our understanding of Jesus ministry was deepen. It is where we learn that His Life and ministry are one and reminding us of his very character of complete obedience, compassion and mercy to others, humility and His wisdom of dealing with each situation and His promise of coming back to soon.

And as we continue our endeavor together of knowing more of Him, last August we started studying one book of the bible each month beginning with the book of Acts. For each month, all of us leaders

will read one book and sit down once every 2nd week of the month sharing what we have learned. We also had fun as we are like going back to school. One leader is assigned to play the role of a teacher facilitating the day and all the others as students. We had quizzes too and recognize those who did well.

By this means, it is our prayer that little by little we will all be united in learning more of Him and applying it in our own little ministry. We know that we have to learn more and be continually transformed to be like Jesus. Patiently with the love of Jesus we will continue to strive to be a disciple who can disciple and minister to others.

We are indeed blessed to grow and serve the Lord with you!

With His Love,Pastor Dennis & Sis. Janette

We have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work growing

in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:9-10

Discipling Disciples

The Friday Cell group started last July with our church mission in mind “….leading people to Christ, developing an intimate growing relationship with Him…..” We started the cell with the help of our leaders and were attended by mostly new in the church. It is a combination of singles and married couples and it is available for those who want to have their cell group after the worship service on Friday.

Amazingly in 3 months time, we have seen the spirit of the Lord moving in our midst. The cell group became an avenue where people openly share their lives. During our first meetings, they gladly share how they came to know the Lord. Tears were flowing from their eyes while sharing how God sees them through their struggles in life. And from then, we started praying for one another, each week we update each other on how God is moving in our day to day living in our struggles and victories. We started studying the Basic of Spiritual Life, studying our nature as a man and how we can live fruitfully and meaningfully along with our values and dreams

in life. Here are some words from the cell group members;

… I am refreshed with His word whenever I attend the BS… Levi

… I love to attend the cell as I feel its people who are family and people who care. We have genuine love for each other. I feel blessed and enriched spiritually… Amrita

…We are attending because we want to grow, know Him more and be continually transformed. I pray that I will also share and invite my other friends…. Manny and Madeleine

And as we continue, it is our prayer that our church will continue to open more cell groups as an avenue of answering the need of the people, sincerely loving and bearing one another’s burden fulfilling God’s purpose of proclaiming His glory.

What a glorious God we serve, Sis Janette

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

mission update

Every human being is like a tree. Like a healthy tree, you must bear good fruit. John the Baptist said if you don't bear good fruit, God will cut you down one day and let you fall in the fire.

You have to bear good fruit, not just any kind of fruit. To bear good fruit, you have to have your faith and your doctrines mixed-up together with the love of God. You have to love God.

You may say, "Don't we all love God?" No, we don't love God if we don't bring Him gifts, and if we try to get the blessings of God in some other way than the way the Bible says.

I hardly remember when I started to have the heart of reaching out; maybe I started it with my wife reaching out to people who are in need, families whose lack of basic needs in their households, a member of the family in the neighborhood got sick and a child who wants to go to school but their parents cannot afford it.

I would always love to share my blessings that God gave to me and to my family if this

is the way we can bless others and help them, we would do it for the glory of our living God. I felt the real joy in my heart through giving and this is what I believe God called me to do. It is when I started as a full time servant in the mission ministry and most of the time our family’s helping hand to others.

In year 2005 we bought a land which we intend to build a church in our community nearby our home in the Philippines. And when that church was built up through God’s faithfulness, we were able to conduct several church activity programs for the less fortunate such as the feeding program, relief goods giving, monetary assistance for children who we are helping to continue their studies as their parents can’t afford to send them to school and financial support for the pastors who has outreaches in other communities and even provinces to share God’s word and prophesize God’s good news. Till date I am engaged with many different outreach programs and up to this point of my life I am still asking the Lord in what other ways he wants me to help others.

God may have called me in this ministry to

reach out for the less fortunate and be a blessing to those people who have been called as well to serve in this ministry. I always tell myself and shared it to my wife that I regret being a late bloomer in the house of God. But in Him we are never too late because he always have a room for everyone. It was indeed a great privilege to serve God and His people in this way and oh yes it did bear good fruit in the lives of those people and in every areas of my life too.

You might be thinking or asking yourself, how do you bear good fruit? Pass out tracts, feed the poor, bless someone who needs something, bring lost people to church, and tell your pastor you want to do something for God.

Get started now.

Always say, "I'll do anything for Jesus." Never say something like: "Well, going from house to house is not my ministry." Listen, the ministry of Jesus is your ministry.

Serving the Lord with you,Brother Ric Oconer
