• Research has also demonstrated that students who use and create media products are more engaged in their learning and motivated to excel and self-direct their own learning.

• Project-based learning provides students the opportunity to engage in activities that are meaningful, requires that they bring their own thinking/ideas to the process.

Operational procedure of Madison-Oneida BOCES will make effective and efficient use of all available resources. (Board Goal #2)

• II. Center for Instructional Support obtains grant from Oneida & Herkimer Community Foundation to expand the Adaptive Toy Collection within the MOB CIS Media Library

• The Adaptive Toy Library, features a variety of nontraditional toys that help special needs students develop fine and gross motor skills, cognitive, visual, and social skills, and increase their mobility and independence. The library provides access to toys not typically available in a retail setting.

• . Students use the toys in their classrooms and also take them home to continue their learning beyond the school day.

• The collection was created in 2004 with a grant from the CNY Community Foundation.

• MOB School Library System (SLS) provided 25 c.e. mini grants to component school librarians to attend conferences/workshops and 2 program grants.

• MOB SLS provided 5 mini grants to support summer (2011) library/literacy programs at component schools

• MOB SLS sponsored 18 workshops conferences

• MOB Center of Instructional Support component & BOCES usage of resources utilized with the MOB Media catalog:
