Broadband Technologies Opportunity Program
Our Grants:
Comprehensive Community Infrastructure (CCI)
Sustainable Broadband Adoption
(SBA)
Building Community Capacity through Broadband
CCI [infrastucture] = $42.7 million • $29.9 federal support • $9.2 cash match • $3.6 in-kind contribution
SBA [education] = $3.2 million • $2.4 federal support • $875,000 match
Three Goals
1. To initially build the infrastructure to connect public community anchor institutions in four Wisconsin demonstration communities;2. To help the demonstration communities maximize their use of broadband, which will increase demand for broadband services for business and residents, provided by third-party (aka private) providers; and3. To bring lessons learned and resources developed to communities across the state.
Our Vision
Building Community Capacity through Broadband (BCCB) is the Wisconsin initiative connecting people to broadband technologies through sustainable public-private partnerships and Community Area Networks (CANs).
Our vision is to build stronger communities by connecting people with ideas, resources and technology, leading the nation in building sustainable regional technology partnerships.
