TESTIMONIES FROM DTC CLASSES FROM AUGUST–NOVEMBER 2016 CLASSES

PATRICIA WONG, DTC 1 All Scripture is inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16). From my DTC class, I learnt to appreciate Scripture memory and enjoy writing as many Bible verses as possible in my journal book. I’ll try to live up to the verses I’ve memorised. Now I enjoy doing my quiet time, seeking His face and communicating with the Lord every day and night. I’m learning to love God deeply and understand Him better.

EDWIN LEE, DTC 1The Scripture memory practice helps me to build a strong foundation which is necessary in my Christian journey, enabling me to witness for Christ more effectively and allowing me to speak words of encouragement to those who are facing challenging circumstances. DTC places emphasis on quiet time, which involves starting the day by seeking God, because receiving a “download” or scriptural verse from the Lord will help to make my day more productive for His glory and honour. I am reminded to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the King and Lord over my life by giving Him full authority to rule my life. In order to know the plans that God has in store for me, I need to read the Bible daily, speak to God frequently through prayer and build an intimate relationship with Him.

ÉCLAIR LEE, DTC 2 To me, the best part of our DTC class was how Patrick and Angela put aside lesson time to facilitate the weekly discussion on what we discovered during our quiet time. That was very stimulating for both new believers like me as well as other mature believers, because all of us got to experience how great God is through each other’s quiet time. We also analysed and sought answers to any query that popped up during our sharing. Another takeaway was the extended quiet time during the last lesson. It was a fruitful finisher to the course, because it offered a prelude to the possible integration of extended quiet time in our busy lives. It shows me how I can become closer to God if I find more time to spend with Him, and provides me the structure to do so.

EILEEN CHONG, DTC 2In the past, the Bible was always the last book I reached out for as I felt it was too much to read and, most times, too difficult to understand. At DTC 2, I learnt that one can read numerous books from famous authors but none can provide the answers on how we should live our life as Christians and what we should do in order to fulfil God’s will. I learnt more about God’s Word and that it is a gracious act of God to provide us with an “official” guide - Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth (BIBLE). Such a valuable asset God has given us.

HENRI TRAN, DTC 3I am really glad to have joined the DTC class. DTC is a good tool to share knowledge among mature and young believers. Through the study of Scripture and sharing of our journey and experiences, we grow together and bonded. We are all here to learn more of Him.
