Subject: Fundamentals of Management Subject Code: BBA 101 Semester-I UNIT I Management an Overview, Management Defined, Functions of Management, Managerial Roles and responsibilities, System and Contingency Approach for understanding organizations, Management Thought-Classical Perspective, Scientific Management, Administrative Management, Bureaucratic Management, Behavioral Perspective. Managerial processes, functions, skills and rules in an organization, social responsibilities of Business. UNIT II Fundamentals of Planning - Objectives, Strategies, Policies, Decision making. UNIT‐III Fundamentals of Organizing- Nature and purpose, Departmentation, Span of Management, Strategic organizing design, line and staff authority and decentralization. UNIT‐IV Direction-concept, Leadership- Meaning and Importance, transitions in leadership theories, trait theories, behavioral theories, contingency theories, leadership styles and skills, managerial culture and leadership. Bachelor of Business Administration Subject: Fundamentals of Computer Subject Code: BBA 103 Semester-I UNIT‐I Introduction – Digital and Analog computers, evolution of digital computers, major components of a digital computer, hardware, software, firmware, middleware and freeware, computer applications. UNIT‐II Decimal number system, binary number system, conversion of a binary number to decimal number, conversion of a decimal number to a binary number, addition of binary numbers, binary subtraction, hexadecimal number system, octal number system. UNIT‐III Input devices, output devices, printers, plotters, other forms of output devices; memory, types of main memory, secondary memory.

UNIT‐IV Introduction to Operating System – Definition of OS; Functions of OS, basic concept of different type of OS- batch processing OS, Multitasking OS, Multi-user OS, Working knowledge of MS-DOS, concept of file, Directories in DOS, Internal Commands and some Important External. Introduction to MS Office: Word, Excel, Power point Presentation. UNIT V Introduction to INTERNET – Definition of INTERNET, INTRANET; Modem, Web Browser, Concept of E-mail, Web Server, Web Page, Web Sites and WWW (World Wide Web); Some important terminology – HTTP, URL, FTP, DNS; Definition of Hypertext; Basic concept of HTML.

Subject: Business Economics I Subject Code: BBA 105 Semester-I UNIT I Meaning, Nature and Scope of Business Economics – Micro and Macro, Basic Economic Problems, Market forces in solving economic problems.

UNIT II Concept of Demand, Elasticity of Demand, Revenue Concepts - Total Revenue, Marginal Revenue, Average Revenue, Concept and Law of Supply, Factors Affecting Supply. UNIT‐III Cost of Production: Social & Private Costs of Production, difference between Economic and Accounting Costs, Long Run and Short Run Costs of Production. Economies and Diseconomies of Scale and the shape of the long run average cost.

UNIT‐IV Perfect Competition- Equilibrium of Firm and Industry under Perfect Competition, Monopoly - Price Determination under Monopoly, Monopolistic Competition - Price and Output Determination under Monopolistic Competition. UNIT V Marginal Productivity Theory of Distribution, Rent: Modern Theory of Rent, Wages: Wage Determination under Imperfect Competition - Role of Trade Union and Collective Bargaining in Wage Determination, Interest: Theories of Interest.

UNIT II Grammar and Vocabulary: Pairs of confused words, common errors, use of articles, prepositions, apostrophes, agreement of the verb with the subject, one-word substitution, synonyms and antonyms. UNIT‐III Group discussions, Personal Interview, art of public speaking and extempore speech. UNIT‐IV Business Correspondence: Principles of business correspondence, parts of a business letter, formats (Full-block/Complete block, Modified block, Semi-block), types of letters: Enquiry letters and replies to enquiry (enquiry about a product, service or information, asking for a quotation, placing an order and replies to the same) letters of Claim and Adjustment.
