• Born Riley B. King in the small town of Itta Benna in the Mississippi Delta

• He was born to a family of poor sharecroppers

• By age 7, he had to work in the fields

King’s most famous and beloved guitar, named “Lucille”.

King learned the basic of guitar from his preacher. At age 12, he purchased his first guitar for $15.00. He started playing on the streets and learning

from other street performers. He soon began playing nightclubs and had a

regular spot on a radio station.
