Frostbite Race and Dinner

The Frostbite Dinner, September 8th , hosted by Roxanne and Dan Branson, Gail & Randy Rice and Greg and Sarah Gardner, was superb. The decorations were spectacular, with LED candles on each table, and bright Fall colors. Dinner started with a tasty fresh green salad, followed by warm Italian bread sticks with three Italian sauces for the three choices of pasta, and a Chocolate Sundae

dessert. Roxanne’s Alfredo Sauce from the master chef: Equal parts of butter, cream and parmesan cheese Warm gently and stir together. Adding a little cream cheese is optional. As the mixture thickens, add a little dry Vermouth to thin the sauce as necessary. YUMMY!

Halloween Party There were some great

costumes. Mike

Manning was Judge

Kavanaugh, and Mara

was a sailor just

returning from the Mac

race. Dottie Ford was also a sailor, and Tom was a

Mexican Bandito, Dave Anthony was Father Time and

Cindy was Mother Nature. Sue Clifton had a great

Steampunk costume

on. Mary Harris was a

fisherman and Steve

was a big ass bass. Greg and Sarah Gardner came as the

Gardners. First place went to Mother Nature, and a tie for

second to Judge Kavanaugh and Father Time.

Three Escanaba Boats Sail off to the Sunset

‘Livin’ the Dream–a Hunter 45,

owned by Tom & Cindy Burgess

- sailed from Escanaba, planning

to go down through the

Tennessee-Tombigbee waterway

to Florida and the Bahamas

Tom & Diane Gialdini have been rebuilding

“Gayle Marie” an Endeavor, which they sailed and

motored up the St. Lawrence River five years ago

to Vinette Boatworks. They were delayed going

south in October, and were hauled out at

Marinette/Menominee.

Phil and Barb on the Baba,

Stormy Duchess, after ~ five

years of working on their boat

at Vinette Boatworks. also set

sail in October. The jaunty

bright yellow “Catspaw

Pram,” dinghy Phil built from plans by Graham Byrne at B&B Yacht Design. Two

other Catspaw prams have been built by Escanaba boaters. Bob Fouts built his

dinghy for SanSouci, and “Meander” is a “Twopaw” nesting dinghy built by Glen

Brown for “Adena”.

We wish all three boats safe and wonderful adventures!
