Project• The existing environment did not provide workflow support and had no localization tool. It com-

prised a first-generation digital asset management system.

• The environment resulted in high traffic and the processes left room for improvement.

• Issues were delayed time to market, as well as optimizable brand control in the countries.

• The support of an increasing number of channels, as well as trends such as the increasing product variations and shorter product life cycles resulted in a significant growth in the number of digital assets.

• Bavaria decided to invest in a modern, integrated environment for DAM and localization, support-ing its brand portal based on the Web CMS Plone .

Goals• The new environment should

improve marketing support to the various countries.

• Marketing materials should be available to employees and exter-nal partners 24/7.

• The system should enable signifi-cant improvements in brand man-agement and consistency.

“The increasing file stocks posed the need for effective digital asset management in order to avoid signifi-cant inefficiencies in the creation of our global marketing campaigns.

”Bavaria

• External users not trained on the system should be able to easily find the files they need.

• Another important objective was cost saving in the fields of creation and localization.

• The system should enable fast and efficient deployment of campaigns.

Evaluation• To select the most appropriate solution for the global brand portal, the team at Bavaria ran an

extensive evaluation process.

• Following the best-of-breed approach, WoodWing´s partner Graphit offered WoodWing´s digital asset management system Elvis DAM and, for localizations, the online editor 2imagine.

Implementation• Graphit conducted several workshops to identify the requirements.

• Graphit took care of the implementation of Elvis DAM and 2imagine.

• Bavaria’s design agency took care of the design of the brand portal, and the company´s web CMS integration partner configured the brand portal for the Web CMS Plone used by Bavaria.

• All key users were trained by Graphit in a train-the-trainer model.

Integration• Elvis DAM is integrated with 2imagine, a solution to create, edit, correct and localize native Adobe

InDesign and Illustrator documents online in a browser. Workflow controls drive the collaboration and production process.
