A 2015 VA study reports that out of approximately 800,000 military veterans now attending U.S. colleges, an estimated 88 percent drop out of school during their first year and only 3 percent graduate

BBMP DEVELOPMENT PLAN Advocate for Veterans Transiting Back to College
Partner VA with a ASU NCO Military Liaison Share school schedule and dorms with other vets Mentor new military candidates in JROTC program Military events, seminars, and Formations with Physical training Career and mental health counseling
Advocate for Arizona State Schools Help bridge the need for veteran services in school The college provides space and interns Goal is to help schools keep VA educational funds
Monitor Graduation Rate Monitor Graduation to Career Monitor program resources in relation to school payoff
Advocate for Veterans Administration VA recommends Vets that are identified at risk for school Goal to ensure VA educational benefits are not wasted

DETAILED PLAN FOR BBMP IMPLEMENTATION 6/01/16 & 6/08/16- Initial planning meeting 7/01/16- Meet with VA to propose BBMP 7/14/16- Meet with ASU to offer possible BBMP partnership 9/01/16- VA approval of BBMP Program 9/15/16- ASU approves BBMP Program 9/30/16- BBMP is added to ASU’s next Spring Semester 10/01/16- Meet with ASU, review applicants for Internships

successful retention in class, GPA averages, Liaison career progression report, veteran satisfaction surveys
3/18/17-Veronica meets with ASU to brief program stats & effectiveness, discuss funding.
Dakota meets with VA to determine program effectiveness, program continuation, and funding continuation.
Program repeats next semester GOAL is to eventually track graduation rates into careers-no data at this
time.

School Military Liaisons (10) The military liaisons will meet the eligibility requirements set forth by the BBMP board of executives. Through the work study program students within this role will receive:
50% off state tuition costsFree meal card, parking, &
lodgingTextbook reimbursement
BBMP is located on ASU Tempe main campus near the Pat Tillman Veterans
Center. Small space w/ 6 offices
ASU has agreed on providing the rental space in lieu of increased
graduation rates of 20%, and veteran career progression following
graduation.
