Freshman Parent Orientation has been scheduled for Tuesday Oct. 27th from 5:30 – 6:30. Senior Parent Orientation is on the 27th as well from 6:30 – 7:30pm. The purpose of the Senior Parent meeting will be to discuss scholarships, college applications, financial aid, etc.

(The $30 application fee will be waived for any student who attends any Meet MSU Night or Open House who bring their transcripts and ACT scores). The purpose of the SBDM council is to pass policies to improve the learning environment at our school as well as to improve the quality of instruction that is being delivered to the students in our school.
The council meets regularly on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:00 PM in the library.

2016 ROGERS SCHOLARS PROGRAM APPLICATION NOW AVAILABLE FOR SOPHOMORES. DEADLINE TO APPLY IS JANUARY 31, 2016, BUT INTERESTED STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO START APPLYING NOW. KSBA First Degree College Scholarship: Eligible students are those who would be the first member of their families to graduate from college/technical college. Must have a minimum ACT score of 20. Applications are on the scholarship board. Deadline is November. 13.

Announcement to Seniors: On Tuesday, October 27th, Mrs. Porter will be taking a group of seniors to UK to participate in UK Diversity Day. To be eligible for the trip, seniors must complete an on-line application for admission by logging onto www.applyuk.com. Once the application is complete, you must print a verification for enrollment and give it to Mrs. Porter. Lunch will be provided on that day.
NCAA Eligibility Center – It’s time for the college-bound athletes to register with the NCAA
Eligibility Center.
Who Should Register? Any current high school sophomore, junior, or senior who wishes to participate in
collegiate athletics at an NCAA Division I or II college or university.
How does registration work? Students may access the site at www.eligibilitycenter.org. Then click on “Enter
Here” for NCAA college- bound student athletes, then click on the “New Account” link in the upper right
corner. From there, simply follow the prompts.
What’s next? Students must have their ACT scores sent to the NCAA Eligibility center by entering the code
‘(please see Mrs. Porter for the correct code)’ on the test registration form. All scores must be sent directly from the
testing agency, as test scores on the high school transcript will not be accepted.
CRAFT Academy Application Admission Requirements
Craft Academy applicants are high school sophomores who will have completed geometry, algebra I, and algebra II by the end
of their sophomore year. Students are selected based on ACT or SAT scores; academic grades from ninth and tenth grades;
interest in advanced careers in science, technology, engineering and math; student responses to application essay questions;
interviews by Academy staff members; and recommendations from teachers and other individuals who can attest to a
student’s need and preparedness for the program.
Craft Academy applicants for Fall 2016 must:
Be a current resident of the state of Kentucky;
Be a high school sophomore;
Complete geometry, algebra I and algebra II prior to enrollment;
Score a minimum 18 English, 22 reading, and 22 math on the ACT; and
Submit a completed application and all required materials no later than Feb. 1, 2016. To complete this application on
your computer, download and open in Adobe Reader.
o Required materials include an official high school transcript, ACT or SAT test scores, and three letters of
recommendation, one of which must be written by school personnel and at least one written by a community
member.
