SOAR (Student Orientation Advising and Registration) registration begins on Monday, February 15, 2016. Students will register online at

www.moreheadstate.edu/soar. All students are required to attend SOAR!

Students are encouraged to register and attend SOAR as early as possible to obtain their best class schedule.

Scholarships based on 3 areas – Academic achievement, leadership, and community service Bath Co. Homemakers Scholarship – Deadline May 2, 2016 $1,000 Preference is given to students whose family members are members of the Homemakers club. Check in the Guidance office or the Scholarship Board for applications.

STUDENTS – ARE YOU INTERESTED IN IMPROVING YOUR ACT SCORE??? BCHS will be hosting the ZAPS ACT prep seminar on Friday, Feb. 19th in the high school library from 8:30 am – 2:00pm. Students will be excused from class during the day to attend the seminar. You must register on-line at (register.doorwaytocollege.com) or call 877-927-8378 to get signed up. Cost is $79.99. However, 2 free scholarships will be given away to interested students. Students will: Learn tips for improvement in all subjects Practice strategies to eliminate wrong answer choices Take shortened practice tests Prepare to write a well-organized essay Reduce test anxiety and gain confidence Receive a Study Guide and 6 practice tests See Mrs. Porter if you are interested. The John C Hendricks Beef Tour Applications from Farm Bureau, are now in the guidance office. The deadline for the application is May 1st.

The 2016 Kentucky Farm Bureau Educational Foundation Scholarship Program application is available in the Guidance Office. The Application contains the rules for eligibility on the first page. Also, please check with your county Farm Bureau to see if they offer additional scholarship opportunities for local students. To apply: a student must have either a minimum 3.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or a minimum of 23 ACT score. All applications must be postmarked by February 29, 2016, to be considered. Winners will be notified by May 16, 2016. Applications can be found in the Guidance Office or on the Kentucky Farm Bureau website: kyfb.com/scholarships.

The 2016 Clark Energy Youth Tour applications are now available in the Guidance Office. Students must be a junior in high school, parents must have an account with Clark Energy, and student must submit 250 word essay “Why I Should be Clark Energy’s Delegate to Washington D.C.” Deadline to apply is Feb. 26, 2016
