A NEW REDEMPTORIST MISSIONARY PRIEST! On

Saturday, May 4, Michael Cunningham, C.Ss.R.,

was ordained a missionary priest by the

imposition of hands of Cardinal Joseph Tobin,

C.Ss.R., Archbishop of Newark, NJ. This Sunday

Father Michael celebrates his first Mass in Bethpage,

Long Island, in his home parish of St. Martin of Tours

with his family and friends. Congratulations, Father

Michael! We promise our prayers and support in your

ministry here in Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

We congratulate the children of

OLPH who will receive their First

Holy Communion on Saturdays,

May 11th and 18th. May their love for Jesus in the Eucharist

grow Sunday after Sunday along with their families!

The St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry for the

month of May will be open on Saturdays,

May 11th and 18th, from 10:30 AM - 12 PM.

The OLPH / St. Andrew’s Boys CYO Swim

Team will hold tryouts for boys 5 to

13 years old who would like to join the

team for the 2019 – 2020 season on Monday evenings,

May 6th, 13th, and 20th, at 5:30 PM at the Fort Hamilton

High School pool. Candidates must be able to swim at

least 25 yards freestyle.

Last weekend there were 5,461 people who

came to OLPH for the celebration of the

Eucharist. The total collection was

$18,347.55 (on average, $3.36 per attendee). There is

nothing we have – nothing! - that is not a gift. Everything

we are and everything we have is founded in the loving

generosity of the Creator. Thank you for your generosity.

Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) – Experience Making a Difference:

IVC volunteers are adults over 50 years of age who offer their life

skills and experience one to two days a week to directly serve those
