ÓÄÊ 616.65-002 Basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) as a predictive factor for progression of lower urinary tract symptoms due to benign prostatic hyperplasia: Abstract R.R. Boroyan In accordance with the results of performed investigation it has been concluded that in patients with lower urinary tract symptoms due to of benign prostatic hyperplasia, who had fast progression of symptoms and the necessity of operative treatment, the serum concentration of bFGF trice exceeded that in control patients (P<0.05). At the same time, the progression of symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia wasn’t observed in patients in whom serum concentra-tion of bFGF slightly (22%) exceeded the level in healthy individuals during 3 years of further observation. This group didn’t need surgery, they received medications only. Ìåäèöèíñêèé Âåñòíèê Ýðåáóíè, 2007, 2(30), 68-74
