![Page 6: Barry Meaden](https://reader031.fdocuments.net/reader031/viewer/2022021507/58ef740f1a28abbd308b45d5/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
What was the challenge?
• A manual process for sending all physical mail; patient letters, GP letters, test results etc.
• A labour intensive - 6 FTE’s, their role to outbound call to patients and GPs to arrange appointments.
• Stretched resource through manual processes
• Missed calls / SLAs
• Client letter accuracy dependent on human interaction
PB Solution – all requirements met
• Take original data and transform with full automation.
• User friendly solution
• Ease communications
• Reduced FTE ratio 1:4
• Meeting target SLA’s
Nottingham QMC - Automation of patient correspondence
Unexpected Value• Mail runs from multiple departments without the manual pre-sorting, grouping
• GP’s now receive a single pack with all correspondences, not multiple
• QMC are now in a position to bid for external trust work
• QMC now have an audit trail for each mail piece

NHS Business Support Authority

• Management of schemes for NHS Student Bursaries
• Social Work Bursaries (in England) making payments of over £600m in respect of over 120,000 registered healthcare and social work professionals.
• Resolve outdated / labour intensive inbound scanning solution
• Ability to handle scanning packs containing up to 80 different document types
• Reduction of average pack scanning time 44 minutes
PB Solution
• The Art of the Possible
Unexpected Value
• Due to the unique nature of these scanning desks, significant enhancements in medical record scanning are achievable
• This technology will provide BSA with multiple options for future projects and has been adopted by a number of NHS Trusts and NHS 3rd party services providers.
• Early indications are that the productivity gains are substantial, fewer operatives are undertaking less actions and still creating the required numbers of bursary packs for new students.
