Company History

Our culture and heritage are based on over 150 years of manufacturing and construction experience, from streets paved

with wooden blocks to modern interstate highways. When the age of the automobile arrived in the early 20th Century,

Barrett leadership developed and promoted paving materials that met the growing need for improved roads. Our history

explains our organization’s deeply rooted commitment to quality, innovation and customer service. This foundation has

allowed Barrett to continue paving the way to a successful future.

Barrett Paving Materials is a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation. The Barrett Paving Materials Mid-Ohio Region includes operations in Ohio and Indiana with six aggregate production facilities, three sand and gravel operations and three stone quarries. We also operate three ready-mix concrete facilities under Spring Creek Corporation in the Sidney, New Bremen and Celina, Ohio areas. Our strategic locations make it possible to supply aggregate and ready-mix concrete to our markets in an effective and efficient manner. In providing materials for private, commercial and public works markets, Barrett continues to grow in its experience and expertise.

Our excellent safety performance is a direct result of our extensive safety program which includes company-wide training and a safety officer in each of our operating regions. Environmental Stewardship

Barrett Paving is committed to protecting the environment at our mining locations. This commitment starts when a quarry is opened and continues through its closing and transition to another useful purpose. This reclaimed former quarry in Fairborn, Ohio now provides a habitat for local wildlife.

Innovative Safety Leadership - Tunnel over Haddix Road

In Fairborn, Ohio, Barrett Paving installed a fully enclosed tunnel conveyor to allow for the safe transportation of aggregate over Haddix Road to the processing plant located on the other side. This provides the motoring public a safe, clean and unobstructed roadway through the plant area.
