    Block name: This barn quilt in La Cygne was a gift from Clarice’s daughter/son-in-law and was painted by a recovering soldier after being injured in Iraq who lives in Tennessee.

    Block name: This avid quilter selected the Carpenter’s Wheel pattern for this 5’x5’ on point block that can be found on a shed behind their home.

    Block name: This 2’x2’ barn quilt was painted by the homeowner in her favorite colors using the Morning quilt block pattern and is mounted above the garage door of the home for all to enjoy.

    Block name: Emma Chambers painted this Friendship Star for the Hurt family’s century farm currently owned by Wes & Missy Hurt Chambers, 5th generation owners. The barn quilt won a purple ribbon at the 2017 fair.

    Block name: Sondra Dela Cruz chose three quilt patterns: Monarch, Sunflower, and Starburst- to display on the barn at the family farm of 60 years. The artist raises and tags monarch butterflies.

    Block name: Barbara Duncan chose this 8 pointed star quilt pattern in vibrant colors for her home in La Cygne. It was painted by her friend, Doris McElreath.

    Block name: John Deere colors, the family favorite, were chosen for this 4’x4’ quilt block located on a 2012 metal pole barn. Painted by the property owner who has owned the property for 38 years.

    Block name: Tall Oaks Star pattern was seen at a quilting retreat, painted by the landowner, this 3’x3’ block is located on the home built in 2002.

    Block name: This wood and metal barn, erected in 1986, housing farm equipment, sports a 4’x4’ quilt block which is a simple symbol for friendship-The Friendship Star.

    Block name: Ginger Grove painted this Compass Variation quilt block in red and blue on a white background and hung it on the Alan Grove Components Building just north of Louisburg for all to enjoy.

    Block name: This 4’x4’ barn quilt block was selected from a wedding quilt received by the couple 40 years ago. Painted as a Christmas gift for his wife, it’s located an 1800’s era barn.

    Block name: Coastal Lily is the pattern for the 8’x8’ block, best seen going south on Mission Bellevue toward 327th and is located on a metal garage built in 2006.

    Block name: Sharon Hurt’s Twin Star barn quilt is hanging on point on the Dairy Barn Door at the Hurt Farm of 32 years. Dennis and Sharon milked cows at this dairy from 1987 – 2009 near New Lancaster.

    Block name: This Sunflower quilt block in bright “sunny” colors was made for David and Rosanne Jackson by Doris McElreath. They chose the pattern because they love Kansas sunflowers.

    Block name: This unique 2’ x 2’ Kansas Star quilt block is mounted on an old bedframe in the front yard of this farm purchased in 1996.

    Block name: This brightly colored barn quilt was painted by Doris McElreath for Lakemary Center for the barn at “The Ranch”. This is an animal and garden therapy center for children ages 6-22 years.

    Block name: Historic Miami County Courthouse garden hosts this Courthouse Steps 4’ x 4’ quilt block painted by Rena Tedrow, Extension Master Gardener.

    Block name: This American Star pattern was chosen to display on the McCrea Family Farm south of Osawatomie. Six generations have lived on this farm. It was painted by Debbie Burchett for Lorna’s 60th birthday.

    Block name: Doris McElreath painted these first two barn quilts for her home. She named them Fiesta Squares (on the garage) and Woven Frames that can be seen from County Rd. 1095.

    Block name: “Pedigo Star” is the name given this 4’x4’ barn quilt painted by the homeowner whom has ties to dairy farming in NW Illinois where many barn quilts are displayed.

    Block name: Jennifer Pemberton chose three patterns; Circle Star, Boot Star and Rainbow Cross, for her mother Doris to paint for her barn quilts now displayed on her home southwest of La Cygne.

    Block name: Purchased at a 2015 charity auction this 8’x8’ Americana Star is located on the side of a metal hay barn built in the 1980’s. This farm has been in the family since 1959.

    33850 Victory Rd, Paola Block name: The Prothes have two barn quilts proudly on display. The first is a 60th wedding anniversary

    present from their children, this 8’x8’ “Bear Paw” block is mounted on a wooden generational family barn

    built in 1934 by the homeowner’s grandfather. And the Heritage Barn Quilts painted this 2’x2’ Hummingbird

    block, given to the homeowner by her husband for her 80th birthday. Located on a metal building used for

    pecan sales.

    Block name: A water wheel in Sudbury MA was the inspiration for this 2’x2’ “Water Wheel” block painted by the landowner and located on her home.

    Block name: This metal building/workshop built in 2012 hosts an 8’x8’ Italian Tile-a variation of a LeMoyne Star block. Painted by the homeowner in Southwest colors.

    Block name: Martha Washington Star is the block design chosen by Carol Shugart of La Cygne. She chose shades of blue and red with white background to paint her block.

    Block name: This 8’x8’ Feathered Star block features a reining horse in the middle, painted by Connie Spillman and Laurie Krawchuk. The block hangs on a barn formerly used to train reining horses.

    Block name: Wilma Stainbrook received this barn quilt “Farmer’s Daughter” in 2012 from her family and is mounted on their barn. Viewed best coming from the south or go up the lane.

    Block name: This “March of Time” quilt block was designed with five hour glasses commemorating time the family spent on the farm working together. Favorite colors were used by daughter Doris McElreath.

    Block name: A pretty Red Bird barn quilt adorns an outbuilding at Wanda Stainbrook’s home in La Cygne. This 2'x2' ft. block was painted by Doris McElreath.

    Block name: Sunflower Swain pattern was selected by the homeowner for a 4’x4’ quilt block located on a shed on 4th St. Best view Lincoln St looking North between 4th and Broadway streets.

    Block name: This 4’x4’ get well gift, in 2014 from friends, features a Morning Star pattern. Located on a former dairy barn the property has been owned by the family for over 40 years.

    Block name: Vickie Thorson of Sugar Valley Lake chose a Log Cabin Variation and Star quilt blocks. Her 2016 Country Haven quilt was the source of the Log Cabin block.

    Block name: Located on a Century old barn this 8’x8’ Triple Sunflowers Block was purchased by the homeowners. Appropriately using the KS state flower it’s mounted on a historic farmstead.

    Block name: Linda Town’s Pinwheel Star barn quilt hangs on her husband’s shop built in 1982. The land has been in their family since 1950.
