ANTONIOS CHARBEL AMOUD is the son of Arthur and Maroi Amoud of Cole Harbour. Tony received his undergraduate degree from Saint Mary’s University, his graduate degree from the University of Toronto and his law degree in 2009 from Dalhousie University. He articled with Boyne Clarke in Dartmouth and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

JAMES GERALD ELLIOTT BALL is the son of Donald Ball of Etobicoke, Ontario, and Helen Lefebvre of Brantford, Ontario. He received an Aviation and Flight Technology Diploma from Seneca College, his Bachelor of Arts degree from McMaster University and his law degree in 2009 from Dalhousie University. James articled with Stewart McKelvey in Halifax.

JOSHUA ELI BEARDEN is the son of Jack and Lois Bearden of Harbourville. Joshua received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brock University in 1996 and his law degree from the University of New Brunswick in 2009. Joshua articled with the firm of Stewart McKelvey in Halifax, and intends to practise law in the province of Nova Scotia.

EMILY BEATON is the daughter of Rosemary Bland Beaton and Fabian Beaton. Emily received her law degree from Dalhousie University in 2009. She articled with Burchells LLP in Halifax and Nova Scotia Legal Aid in Dartmouth. She will be relocating to Toronto, to practise at Lockyer Campbell Posner in the area of criminal defence.

JENNIFER SARAH BOND is the daughter of David and Paula Bond of Rickmansworth, United Kingdom, and St. John’s, Newfoundland. Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Dalhousie University and her law degree in 2009, also from Dalhousie. She articled with Stewart McKelvey in Halifax, and intends to serve as the law clerk to the Honourable Mr. Justice Robert L. Barnes of the Federal Court in Ottawa.

IAN JACOB BRENEMAN is the son of Melda and Brian Breneman of Edmonton, Alberta. Ian received his law degree from Dalhousie University in 2009. He articled with Stewart McKelvey in Halifax. Ian will return to Stewart McKelvey as an associate in the summer of 2011, after clerking for the Honourable Madam Justice Elizabeth Heneghan of the Federal Court.

RYAN TROY BROTHERS is the son of James and Diana Brothers of Greenwood. Ryan received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Mary’s University and his law degree in 2009 from Dalhousie University. He articled with the Nova Scotia Department of Justice in Halifax and hopes to remain associated with the Department.

ERIN LINDSAY BURBIDGE is the daughter of Donald Henry Burbidge and Linda Marie Burbidge of Halifax. Erin received both her Bachelor of Science degree and her law degree from Dalhousie University. She practised with Paliare Roland Rosenberg Rothstein LLP in Toronto between 2007 and 2009, and intends to pursue a master’s degree in resource and environmental management at Dalhousie in September 2010.

RYAN MATTHEW CONROD of Sydney is the son of Burton and Connie Conrod. Ryan received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Acadia University in 2006 and his law degree from the University of Toronto in 2009. He articled with Michelle Awad QC of McInnes Cooper in 2009-2010 and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

JULIA LOUISE CORKUM is the daughter of Paul and Shirley Corkum of West Dublin, Nova Scotia. Julia received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New Brunswick and her law degree in 2009, also from UNB. She articled with Nancy Peers Law Firm in Bridgewater and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

HEATHER ELIZABETH DAWE is the daughter of Marilyn and Roland Dawe of Bay Roberts, Newfoundland and Labrador. Heather received her Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Dalhousie University in 2006 and her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Ontario in 2009. She articled with McInnes Cooper in Halifax and will go on to work with the firm as an associate, practising in the area of corporate law.

SPENCER JAMES DELLAPINNA is the son of Jennifer Dellapinna and Leslie Dellapinna of Halifax. Spencer received his Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2006 and his law degree in 2009, both from Dalhousie University. He articled with Ronan Holland of Weldon McInnis in Dartmouth and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

MATTHEW ALAN DILL is the son of Alan and Pat Dill of Annapolis Royal. Matthew received his Bachelor of Science degree from Dalhousie University and his law degree in 2009, also from Dalhousie. He articled with Paul Morris of Patterson Law in Truro and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

STACEY LEE ANN ENGLAND is the daughter of Gregory and Carol England of Guysborough. Stacey received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005 and her law degree in 2009, both from Dalhousie University. She articled with Burchell MacDougall of Truro and will continue with that firm as an associate in its civil litigation department.

PETER WILLIAM FORGERON is the son of Audrey and Bill Forgeron of Sydney. Peter received his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in political science from the University College of Cape Breton in 2000, his Master of Arts in political science from Brock University in 2002, and his law degree from the University of Ottawa (Common Law Section) in 2007. He articled with the Nova Scotia Department of Justice in Halifax and intends to seek a legal career in the public sector.

VANESSA GALLANT is the daughter of Patrick and Jeanne Gallant. Vanessa was born in Dundee, New Brunswick. She received her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from St. Thomas University in 2005 and her law degree from the University of New Brunswick in 2009. Vanessa articled with Brian Downie QC of Cox & Palmer in Halifax and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

AMY GLADYS GIBSON is the daughter of Hester and Howard Gibson of New Germany, Nova Scotia. Amy received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Dalhousie University in 2006 and her law degree from the University of New Brunswick in 2009. She articled with Boyne Clarke in Dartmouth and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

ANGELINE MARY BRIDGET GILLIS is the daughter of Frederick Gillis and Donna Stevens of Eskasoni/East Bay and is married to Sonja Hakka. Angeline received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005 and her law degree in 2009, both from Dalhousie University. She articled with Boyne Clarke in Dartmouth and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

SEAN MICHAEL GLOVER is the son of John and Claire. Sean was born and raised in Halifax. He received his Bachelor of Public Relations degree from Mount Saint Vincent University in 2004 and his law degree from Dalhousie University in 2009. Sean articled with Robert Carmichael of Cox & Palmer in Halifax and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

GUY HARFOUCHE is the son of Francois Harfouche and Lia Harfouche of Halifax. Guy received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dalhousie University and his law degree in 2009, also from Dalhousie. He articled with MacIntosh, MacDonnell & MacDonald of New Glasgow and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

WILLIAM FRANK HAYES is married to Dr. Isabel Smith; they have two children, Aidan and Molly. William received his PhD in experimental psychology from Brown University in Rhode Island, and ran an independent consulting business for many years before studying law. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University in 2009 and articled with McInnes Cooper in Halifax.

LYLE HOWE is the son of Trina Briand and Robert Howe of Halifax, and is a common-law partner to Laura McCarthy. Lyle received his Bachelor of Arts degree and his law degree from Dalhousie University in 2006 and 2009, respectively. He articled with Boyne Clarke in Halifax and will be an associate at Bailey and Associates in Dartmouth.

JESSICA SARAH FINLAYSON IRVING is the daughter of Heather Irving and Norman Finlayson of Rice Point, Prince Edward Island. Jessie received her Bachelor of Science (Honours) in biology from Mount Allison University and her Bachelor of Laws in 2009 from Dalhousie University. She articled with McInnes Cooper in Halifax and will be returning to the firm as an associate with the property and energy and natural resources practice groups.

DANIEL RICHARD JARDINE is the son of Terry and Margaret Lynn Jardine and will become the husband of Jennifer Carroll in August. Daniel was born and raised in Miramichi, New Brunswick. He received his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the University of New Brunswick in 2005 and his law degree from Dalhousie University in 2009. Daniel articled with Sandra Arab Clarke of Cox & Palmer in Halifax and will soon enter practice in Miramichi as a sole practitioner in his practice, Jardine Law.

JONATHAN LANGLOIS-SADUBIN is the son of Jocelyne Langlois and Jack Sadubin of Halifax. Jonathan received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary’s University and his law degree in 2009 from Dalhousie University. He articled with Waterbury Newton in Kentville, and will begin the practice of law with the firm Auld Allen in Halifax.

NICHOLAS JOHN LEBLANC is the son of Marcia LeBlanc of Dieppe, New Brunswick, and is married to Janice LeBlanc. Nicholas received his Bachelor of Science degree from Dalhousie University and his law degree in 2009 from the University of Moncton. He articled with Kathleen Hall of Nova Scotia Legal Aid in Halifax and will be associated there in the practice of law.

CLAIRE LEVASSEUR is the daughter of Bertha Dubé Levasseur and the late Rosaire Levasseur of St-Jacques, New Brunswick, and is the spouse of Colin Richard Bell of Berwick. Claire received her education degree from Université de Moncton and her law degree in 2002, also from Université de Moncton. She practised with Cox and Palmer in Fredericton and with the Law Society of New Brunswick. She intends to practise family and criminal law in the Annapolis Valley.

CINDY LOUISE LOCKE is the daughter of Gina and George MacDonald QC of Halifax and is the very lucky mother of Jake, Sam and Sophie. Cindy received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Dalhousie University, her Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of King’s College and her law degree from Dalhousie. She articled with the law firm of McInnes Cooper in Halifax and will be associated with the firm of Reierson Schurman in Halifax. Cindy would like to thank her parents, children and Brian for all of their love and support.

CHRISTY ANN MACKAY is the daughter of Ross and Loretta MacKay. Christy was born in New Glasgow and was raised in Riverview, New Brunswick. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Allison University in 2004 and her law degree from Dalhousie University in 2009. Christy articled with David Reid of Cox & Palmer in Halifax and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

JENNIFER MELISSA MACKAY is the daughter of Donna and Greg MacKay of Waverley. Melissa received her Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Mary’s University and her law degree in 2008 from Dalhousie University. In June 2009, she was called to the Bar in Prince Edward Island, where she practised with Campbell Lea. She is now associated with Fall River Law Office.

SHAUN MAC MILLAN is the son of Betty and Seymour Mac Millan of Dartmouth, and is married to Su-Li Mac Millan. Shaun received his Bachelor of Arts degree and his Master of Arts degree from Dalhousie University and his law degree in 2009, also from Dalhousie. He articled with Blois, Nickerson & Bryson LLP in Halifax and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

DANIEL DUNN MAGUIRE is the son of Mary Lee Dunn and John Gregory Maguire of Boston, Massachusetts, and is married to Clare Joan Tidby. Dan received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Massachusetts and his law degree in 2007 from Dalhousie University. He articled with James J. White of How Lawrence White Bowes in Windsor, and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

KATHERINE ANNE MORISON MARSHALL is the daughter of Mary Morison and John Marshall of Toronto. Kate received her Master of Arts in economics and international relations from the University of St. Andrews in 2005 and her law degree from the University of New Brunswick in 2009. She articled with Stewart McKelvey in Halifax and will be associated with that firm in the practice of litigation.

JAN-MICHELLE MCCANN is the sister of Sean and Chantelle McCann of Calgary, Alberta. She is married to Samuel Austin of Halifax. Michelle received her Master of Arts in political science from the University of Calgary and her law degree in 2009 from Dalhousie University. She articled with Stewart McKelvey and will be associated with that firm in the practice of labour and employment law.

KATE MULLAN is the daughter of Dr. Bob Mullan and Linda Hutchison of Kentville, and is engaged to marry Kyle MacIsaac of Halifax. Kate received her Bachelor of Arts in history and psychology from Mount Allison University and her Bachelor of Laws in 2009 from Dalhousie University. She articled with McInnes Cooper of Halifax in 2009-2010 and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

MARK ANDREW KEITH O’BLENIS is the son of Ray and Nancy O’Blenis of Stellarton. Andrew received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from St. Francis Xavier University in 2005 and his law degree from Dalhousie University in 2009. He articled with Ray O’Blenis of O’Blenis Law in Stellarton, and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

MICHEL PATRICK O’HARA is the son of Sharon O’Hara and Paul Parker of Far Hills, New Jersey, and Norris Point, Newfoundland. Michel received his Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Acadia University, his Master of Science degree in physics from the University of Waterloo and his law degree from Dalhousie University. He was originally called to the Bar in New York State in 2005 and will be practising with the firm of Gowling, Lafleur & Henderson in Ottawa.

SUZANNE ROBICHAUD is the daughter of Yvon and Ann Robichaud of Weymouth. Suzanne received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Mary’s University and her law degree in 2009 from l’Université de Moncton. She articled with Wickwire Holm in Halifax.

KATIE VERA ROEBOTHAN is the daughter of Glen and Barbara Roebothan of St. John’s, Newfoundland. Katie received her Bachelor of Music in voice from Memorial University in 2004, her Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s University in 2006 and her Bachelor of Laws from the University of New Brunswick in 2009. JONATHAN SAUMIER is the son of Bernard Saumier and Joanne Saumier of Montréal, Québec. Jonathan received his bachelor’s degree in public affairs and policy management from Carleton University in 2004 and his law degree from Université de Moncton in 2009. TODD WILLIAM SCHINDELER is the son of William Henry Schindeler and Irene Peggy Schindeler of Vancouver, British Columbia, and is married to Karen Louise Schindeler. DEREK ROY SCHNARE is the son of Brian and Kelly Schnare of Deep Cove. Derek received his Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Mary’s University and his law degree in 2009 from Dalhousie University. He articled with Derek Wells QC of Hennigar, Wells, Lamey & Baker in Chester and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

MICHAEL PATRICK SCOTT is the son of William and Patricia Scott of Dartmouth, husband of Tara Scott and father of William Harry Scott. Michael received his Bachelor of Music degree in 2002 and his law degree in 2009, both from Dalhousie University. He articled under the direction of Adriana L. Meloni at Patterson Law in Halifax, and will be continuing the practice of law at that firm.

ANSLEY CATHERINE MARGARET SIMPSON is the daughter of Dr. Charles David and Catherine Simpson of Halifax. Ansley received her Bachelor of Arts degree (Honours Psychology) from Acadia University in 2005 and her law degree from Dalhousie University in 2009. She articled with Boyne Clarke and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

SAMINA THIND is the daughter of Kanwal Sidhu and the granddaughter of Gurcharan and Surjit Sidhu. Samina received her Bachelor of Arts in political science in 2006 and her Bachelor of Laws in 2009, both from Dalhousie University. ASHLEY LYNN THOMAS is the daughter of Glendon Thomas and Elizabeth Thomas, of East Preston and Dartmouth, respectively. Ashley received her Bachelor of Commerce and her combined Bachelor of Laws and Master of Business Administration degrees all from Dalhousie University. She articled with Randall Balcome of Waterbury Newton in Kentville and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

PETER THOMSON is the son of Bruce and Donna Thomson of Halifax and is married to Vanessa Thomson of Halifax. Peter received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint Mary’s University, his Master of Business Administration from Dalhousie University and his law degree in 2009, also from Dalhousie. He articled with Quackenbush, Thomson & Robbins of Halifax and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

EZRA BENJAMIN VAN GELDER was born in the Netherlands and was raised in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. He has been married to his wife, Elizabeth, for four years. He received his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in business administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business and his law degree in 2009 from the University of Western Ontario. Ezra articled with Terry Roane QC of Cox & Palmer in Halifax and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

WILLIAM MURRAY WILSON is the son of William Ross Wilson and Hilda Wilson of Ottawa, and is married to Anne Berndl. Murray received his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from Queen’s University, his Master of Arts degree from McMaster University, and his law degree in 2009 from Dalhousie University. He articled with Burchell MacDougall in Halifax and will be associated with that firm in the practice of law.

1. Justice enters, everyone rises and the Court is formally opened.2. Presenting Officer introduces and moves for the admission of each individual

candidate.3. When applicants have been presented, all Oaths administered and all Orders

granted, the Justice will deliver a short address.4. The Court will be formally closed.

SIGNING THE ROLL

Following the ceremony, each candidate for admission to the Barristers’ Society is required to sign the Roll of Lawyers. Admissions staff will direct you to the appropriate area.
