What films were we influenced by?
Synopsis - Opening
● The hero's brother is in money troubles with a group of drug dealers.
● Hero's brother only has half the money therefore the hero is trying to stop his brother from going before the men arrive.
● However the hero gets there too late and the drug dealers realise not all of the money is there.
● The gang takes the brother as hostage until the hero gets the money to get him back.
Mise-en-scene
● The three drug dealers in car will be dressed in all black with white masks.
● Brother wearing hoodie, jeans and hat.● Hero wearing polo shirt and black trousers.● Bag that contains money.● Note that gives hero information needed to get his brother
back.● Car.● Settings: Car park, streets
Moodboard
Sound
● Tense non diegetic music to create an atmosphere which will keep the audience on edge because they are expecting something to happen.
● Diegetic sound of car pulling over.
Camera
● High angle shot of the three men looking down on the brother to show they have control of the situation and shows they are intimidating.
● Low angle shot showing brother looking up at the drug dealers to show vulnerability.
● Shallow focus to emphasis the importance of the main character.
Editing
● Cutting to show each persons view, e.g hero then villains. Showing different emotions in the scene.
● Cross-cutting between the protagonist and his brother to build tension.
● Black outs when Victim is taken making the scene dramatic.
Why would this appeal to our audience?
● Most of our audience said they wanted a brave hero who goes on a quest where he needs to be brave.
● We decided not to do a fantasy because the audience wanted the characters/situations to be relatable.
● It is not set in the future – like modern action/adventure films such as The Hunger Games because the audience said they were bored of dystopian films and wanted something set now.
