Banner 9 OverviewWhat is Banner 9?

•The next generation of Banner.•Modern web-first technology, mobile friendly.•Adaptive design, i.e., you can expand and contract the size of the page, similar to other windows.•Provides foundation for improved functionality.•Can run in any browser and operating system including IOS (Macs/iPad).

Banner 9 Overview

•Banner 8 forms “transformed” to Banner 9 pages.•Form features and database are unchanged.•No longer dependent on Java plug-in or Internet Explorer.• Improved Navigation and Search features.• Shorter learning curve than Banner 8 forms.•Uses Single Sign On (SSO) for authentication.•Oracle will not support forms after Dec 2018.

Begin Transition!• Admin Pages only.• No change to self-service WebSmart at this time.• Apps and self-service changes will be evaluated later.

Transition Status!• Began weekend of April 21st – 22nd, 2018.• October 13-14 upgrade provided all remaining Banner 9

functionality • With a few exemptions (only available in Banner 8)• EOPS• SKACHRT – Cohorts• SLAENVT – Event management

• Banner 8 will remain available through the end of the year

• WebXtender changing to single signon on Oct 15, 2018 (can be accessed from within a Banner 9 form).

Using Banner 9• Banner 9 works with any browser. • We recommend Chrome.• If having connection problems – make sure to clear

cache.• Banner 8 pages can still be accessed throughout the

transition period, But only through IE.• WebXtender is now able to connect directly from

Banner 9 forms (No longer from Banner 8). May want to continue to use IE.
