History

The bank opened in 1899. The bank

used to be in the Village Hall. There

is a museum in the basement of the

bank with old items from the bank.

This used to be used a long time ago

to type numbers.

Using Math

The tellers have to count your money.

They have to say how much money

they are giving you. The tellers need to

know how much the coins are worth.

They add and subtract to figure out

how much money you have in your

savings account.

Reading and Writing

The tellers read the value of the

dollars. They have to read

checks. They have to fill out

forms. The teller looks up

accounts on the computer. The

teller has to read your name and

What If You Worked Here?

It would be fun to work at the bank. You

get to meet a lot of people. It would be

hard to remember everyone’s name. You

would wear a tie or nice clothes. You

would have to keep the money safe.
