Banfelds veterinarians and paraproessionals use PetWare,

Banfelds proprietary data/electronic medical records system,to collect data rom every pet cared or in Banfeld hospitals.

Inormation is downloaded daily to the medical database atBanfelds main campus in Portland, Ore. Data are then analyzed

by Banfelds internal research team, Banfeld Applied Research& Knowledge (BARK).

Banfelds commitment to providing high-quality veterinary careis grounded in evidence-based medicinethis is supported by

BARKs team o researchers, many o whom are veterinariansand are dedicated to population-based research. The BARK team

analyzes the medical data o more than 7 million pet visits atBanfeld hospitals each year to develop insights into diseases

aecting pets. Findings o the studies they conduct are shared

with veterinarians and the public through various avenuesincluding continuing education materials, scientifc journals,

the Banfeld Journal (a medical publication), and the annualState o Pet Health Report.

Our commitment also extends to orming partnerships that will

beneft pets and pet owners. This philosophy led PetSmart, thenations largest retailer o pet-related products and services,

to ask Banfeld to bring high-quality care to their stores in

1994. In 2007, Banfeld joined the Mars Incorporated amily obusinesses with the common goal o providing high-quality pet

care and nutrition to companion animals.
