FROM THE CHAIRMAN’S PEN

Hello Natal Members,

Friday 21st September and everyone arrived safely at Lalanathi

Caravan Park.

The evening started off with lasagne cooked by the Cook’s, it was

delicious. We enjoyed the meal and company even in the cold.

We had a few visitors for the weekend. With Bruce and Jean –

Michael, Chantelle and their 2 children, Rachal and Bryce.

Roy and Karen brought along Craig and Glynis along with Craig’s

son, Tyler. Howie and Thelma came along with Deon and Sandra.

We hope you had a great time with us.

Thanks to you all for the lovely turnout, one of our biggest so far.

I just need to remind you all about certain things. The parks do not

and will not accept people sleeping in their vehicles. Please

members pass this on to your visitors as well. It does not portray a

good image of the region and club, nor of that of the park. This will

not be tolerated going forward.

Bad language will also not be tolerated, this is a family region, there

are always children, ladies and men that do not like this kind of thing

happening around them.

So, in future if you are not able to control your language please walk

away.

Bad behaviour will not be tolerated in this region and will be dealt

with in the correct manner.

Our next rally is at a new park to all of us, Ovaflo in Crammond.

Please get your intentions in and let’s go and see what is on offer at

these very good rates. Bring the fishing rods, canoes and let’s have a

jolly time.

Please get your intentions in as soon as possible.

Well, what a great long weekend was had by all.

We had 17 vans and 5 visitors. With the weather that we were expecting everyone was well

prepared. When everyone arrived on Friday, there was great music playing around and then from

6pm we had a great meal prepared by 2 of our Marshalls Debbie and Terrence which was a great

hit. Thank you for preparing that guys. After that, everyone stood around the nonstop fires at Debbie

and Terrence’s van where a lot of laughter was had too.

Saturday morning there was a lot of people feeling very sorry for themselves. With the weather not

looking so great some people (The Marshals and more) decided it was a great idea to go support

the local pub and WOW did they support it!! As a No games where played due to no marshals

being around to get it going.

Saturday afternoon was rugby time and after some people nearly had things thrown at them during

the game, it was time to braai. Once again we all met at Debbie and Terrence, where everyone

brought something to share. Thank you everyone for all you prepared.

Another great Saturday night and laughter and fun. There was a terrific thunder, lightning and hail

storm, that I don’t think many have seen in a long time.

Sunday dawned and the heads where again very cloudy, but our well-prepared fines master was

ready for friendlies, Lenny/Leon dished out a lot of fines. Wooden spoon was handed over by

Terrence to Max for his rugby incident.

Thank you all for a great weekend and we look forward to the next one.

Tarryn and I are Marshals, we will be preparing an October feast for the Adults and a Trick or Treat

for the kids. I will be sending through a program early, so everyone can start preparing for the next

rally.

RALLY CONVENOR REPORT – LALANATI National Rally

Ovaflo Resort is a peaceful, rustic fishing /picnic /Camping resort. Situated on the bank of the Umgeni river with farm surroundings. We offer clean ablution with flushing toilets, hot showers and wash-up area. Limited power points for campers. Playpark for children, tyre swing, bird watching, feeding of farm animals and close-up meeting with donkeys. Tuckshop with cold drinks, chips, sweets, cigarettes, wood, charcoal, fishing tackle /bait, meat, ice, ice-cream, etc. 15 km from Pietermaritzburg and Wartburg. Night fishing also available on advanced bookings.

If intentions and payments are not received by due date, you will not have a secured place at the Park and you must deal and

pay the park yourself. You will not receive the special rates.

If you send intentions and payment through and cancel a week before the Rally, your money will get carried over to the next

Rally. If Cancelled after the park has been paid (it will be up to the parks discretion whether they refund you, and not the clubs

decision.)
