Welcome to this Issue of the Ballyhoura Country Newsletter

This monthly publication aims, as always, to bring you all the latest news on all that is

happening in the area. It gives us the opportunity to enlighten and inform you, the tourism

product and service providers of Ballyhoura Country, on upcoming events as well as new

attractions and opportunities. This is your newsletter. Your views and suggestions are

BALLYHOURA BEO – EVENTS

Ballyhoura Beo are currently running their exciting new ‘Adventure Activity Programme’ with

Foroige, Killmallock. This programme teaches learners how to read maps and compasses, and

the correct clothing to wear in ‘The great Outdoors’. It also introduces learners to specialist

equipment designed for the great outdoors. The learners are also learning about ‘Geocaching’ –

an exciting global GPS treasure hunt. Contact: [email protected]

A member of Ballyhoura Beo will be providing information on fitness and the associated health

benefits at a Health and Wellbeing morning in Charleville on November 30th

in Hill view Drive.

Beo will be working with the sports partnerships in Limerick and Cork this coming January to help

deliver Operation Transformation walks and runs around the Ballyhoura County. Please contact

Kildorrery Christmas Market will take place in The Creamery Yard Complex on Saturday from 12

midday to 5pm on 10th December. It will offer over 30 stalls including Home Baking, Christmas

Gift Ideas, Floral Arrangements, Arts & Crafts etc. There will also be a Wheel of Fortune where

you can win prizes. All proceeds on the day will go to further Community Projects. There is sure

to be something for everyone on the day.

After mass on 11th December, the town will be visited by Santa. Santa will be meeting children at

the Ballyhoura Apple Farm from 12pm onwards. Times must be pre-booked by contacting Maura

on 087 6729919 and the cost is €10.00 per child with family discounts available.

The Ballyhoura Apple Farm will be running the Christmas Market all day on 11th December.

Kilfinane Community Council will light the Christmas Tree in the town centre at 5.30pm with carols

and music.

There will be a Christmas Movie at The Church of Ireland at 7pm. Cost is €4.00 per person with

Knockainey Historical & Conservation Society is holding a Santa’s Grotto on 10th December at

4.30pm. This event will include Children’s Storytelling, Colouring Corner, Face-Painting, Craft
