O f course Ke n was sure H e ha d s a t under thisvery tree a n d shared t h e Good News o f Jesus with OleKoikai. I t w a s under this verytree Ole Koikai prayed to receive Jesus. Wh y is i t so hard fo r you to believe? asked Ken. Ole Tangile's face took o n a reminiscent look. Several years ago, h e mused, three me n o f my age-set (6 0 to 75-year-olds) listened t o t h e news o f Jesus W e believed what w e heard W e were baptized. Shortly afterour baptisms, we were cursed by a fellow age-mate. Two o f u s a re still stronginthe Lord, a n d on e h as fallen away. Theage-mate who cursed u s w a s O le Koikai. Ho w could h e n o w beheve? Come with me to his village tomorrow, K e n suggested, andsee yourself. A group of 13 me n accompanied Ken a n d Ole Tangile th e following day. As t h e day'slesson drew t o a close, Ole Koikai w a s the first t o speak. H e looked intently at th e group o f me n a n d asked, Ho w long have y o u al l known this Good News and, yet, kept i t to yourselves? Some o f t h e men looked nervous; others I suggested that theyhad i only recently heardofJesus I The air was thick with | tension. i Only Ol e Tangile countered t h e challenge, Wh y did you _ curse us? A subdued Ol e Koikai answered, I didn't ^ understand what yo u were doing. We hadn't talked about Jesus and baptism ^ together. His voice trailed [_ off. B u t n o w YOU believe this (rood News, too? asked Ole Tangile. Yes, I do firmly answered Ole Koikai. T h e tension w as gone. T he dividing wall was destroyed. It is late, someone suggested. L et u s drink teaandreturn home Therefore, remember that formerlyyou ... were separate from Christ... without hope a n d without God i n t h e world. shook his
head in
disbelief. Are you sure? he
asked. Are you sure it was
my
age-mate,
Ole KoikaiT
Ole Tangile -- a puzzled hut

Of course Ken

had sat under this very
tree
and
shared
the Good News
of
Jesus
with Ole Koika i. I t was
under
this
very tree Ole
Koikai
prayed to
receive Jesus. Why
is
it
so hard fo r you to
believe?
asked
Ken.
Ole
Tangile's
face took on a
r emin i scen t
look.
Severa l
years ago, he
mused,
three
men ofmy
age-set (60
to
75-year-olds) listened to the
news
of
Jesus We
believed
wha t we
heard
We were
baptized. Shortly af ter our
baptisms,
we
were
cursed
by
a
fellow age-mate. Two of us
are
still
s trong in the
Lord,
and
one
has fallen
away. The age-mate
who
cursed us
was
Ole
Koikai .
How cou ld he
now
beheve?
Come with m e to his
village tomorrow,
Ken
suggested,
and see for
yourself.
A
group of

men

the

day.
As
the
day's lesson
drew to a c lose, Ole
Koikai
was the
f irst
to

looked

you

dwelling in which
God
lives by
His Spirit Ephesians 2:11-22
A dividing wall of hostility has
fallen
here,

a
living stone
has been added to the dwelling
in
which
God
l ives by
His
Spirit.
