Mapping The mission of Friends of Balboa Park is to preserve Balboa Park’s legacy for future generations through park-wide projects. Areas of the Park 1. Northwest Area 2. 6th Avenue 3. San Diego Zoo 4. Central Mesa 5. Florida Canyon 6. Morley Field 7. Golf Course 8. Golden Hill Area 9. Dog Park 10. North Central Outcomes • City staff now have accurate interactive maps of mains, valves and backflows in the Central Mesa • Interactive maps display layers of data about water infrastructure • Google Earth based technology free and accessible to authorized users on computer or tablet • Staff quickly access information about mains and valves • Includes feature that enables staff to identify the best location to make repairs • Instructional materials and workshops for City staff to be offered by the Center for H2O Experience • Plans to map mains, valves, irrigation and flora for additional areas of the Park are being developed
